Immersive Learning

We (Notre Dame) are fortunate to be showcased by Education Insider Magazine. The magazine was interested in our programs promoting immersive learning such as the Visual & Performing Arts, Ceramics, Culinary Arts, and Dual Enrollment pathways. We were pleased to see Notre Dame showcased as a top Catholic school, highlighted in the Catholic schools section, and our profile listed on their website.

We are fortunate to have Bishop Ramon Bejarano installed as the sixth Bishop of Monterey. He would like to meet with the parents tomorrow night (Thursday) at 6:00 pm in the Commons (notice the change in venue after I sent out the email invitation yesterday) after meeting with faculty/staff and board members earlier in the afternoon. Please make plans to join us!

Go Spirits!

Salinas Valley Health’s Summer Health Institute

Summer Health Institute (SHI) was developed in 2003 to provide selected students an opportunity to gain insight into health careers and community health needs from a variety of healthcare professionals as they describe their role in the delivery of healthcare in the hospital and the community.

During the five-weeks of SHI, students will hear presentations from physicians, nurses, and support clinicians such as respiratory care practitioners, radiology technologists, pharmacists, dietitians, physical, occupational, and speech therapists, laboratory scientists, case managers, and more as well as hospital board members, administrators, and department managers. In addition, students will learn from faculty and students from Hartnell College School of Nursing & Health Sciences and Mission Trail Regional Occupation Program (ROP) CNA program and will work in teams to research and present their own clinical case studies and public health advocacy projects related to issues affecting our community, with the support of SHI alumni mentors.

The program is available to high school junior or senior students at the time of application.

Interested students can call Salinas Valley Health Medical Center Volunteer Services at 831-755-0772 or email to SHI@SalinasValleyHealth.com.

Alumnae News

We were delighted to welcome several alumnae to our Lenten Dinner last week, and as always, their deep love for Notre Dame shone brightly. They spoke with such pride and affection for their alma mater, sharing stories and reflections that reminded us all of the enduring spirit of our school community.

They were especially complimentary of our student servers, noting their warm smiles, gracious attentiveness, and vibrant energy throughout the evening. It was heartwarming to see our current students embodying the very values that have long defined Notre Dame.

Yesterday, we were also honored by a visit from a member of the Class of ’66. She marveled at the beauty of the school and fondly shared cherished memories from her time here, offering a beautiful reminder of the generations of young women who have walked these halls before us.

What a gift it is to be part of the living legacy that is Notre Dame — a tradition of faith, friendship, excellence, and enduring connection.
