Howard Elementary October 2025
This month, our character trait is Responsibility—and one of the most important responsibilities students have is coming to school each day, ready to learn. Regular attendance shows responsibility by helping students keep up with classwork, contribute to group activities, and build habits that last a lifetime.
Being present also allows students to form strong relationships with peers and staff. We know mornings can be tough and that some days it’s hard to come when not feeling 100%, but the growth we see in students who attend regularly is incredible!
Families can support consistent attendance by encouraging healthy routines at home—like setting regular bedtimes and limiting screen time before bed. When students take responsibility for being at school, they grow academically and strengthen the relationships that make Howard such a special place.

October 8th - Walk and Roll to school
October 10th - Statewide Inservice Day - No school
October 13th - PTO Meeting, Media Center starting at 2:45 p.m.
October 13th - Site Council, Media Center starting at 3:15 p.m.
October 27th - No School - Grading Day
October 30th - Trunk-or-treat, Howard parking lot starting at 4:00 p.m.
October 31st - Harvest/Dia de los muertos parties in class and Costume Parade
