Mr. Covert's Musings
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! This week was a wonderful celebration of our OUTSTANDING teachers at HHS. I can't possibly put into words how grateful I am for our teachers. They are the hardest working staff in the state of Maryland. Each day, they plan and deliver outstanding lessons for your students. On top of their daily lessons, they are advising clubs, coaching teams, and serving as mentors. Our teachers are one of the main reasons why Hereford High is such a special school. Thank you Hereford High Teachers!!
Also, a big thank you goes out to the PTSA and community members who helped with donations to celebrate our teachers this week!
Graduation Day: Asynchronous Remote Instruction
On Friday, May 29, The Class of 2026 will be participating in graduation exercises at Towson University. As a result, our school will be closed for in-person instruction and will instead provide asynchronous remote instruction for our students in grades 9-11. The day will still be a B-Day, and asynchronous assignments will be posted on each class' Schoology page. We will resume in-person instruction on the next school calendar day of June 1st (A-Day).
We appreciate your understanding as we recognize the achievements of our proud Hereford graduates in the Class of 2026!

Trout in the Classroom
Students from AP Environmental Science, Earth Systems, and the HOPE Club partnered with Maryland DNR and Trout Unlimited to raise trout from eggs to fingerlings. Throughout the year, students collected and recorded chemical and physical data, using it to analyze tank health, monitor mortality rates, and troubleshoot issues to ensure the trout survived. On Friday, May 1, students traveled to Jerusalem Mills to release the rainbow trout they had spent the year studying.
