A Message from Mr. Haroldson

Dear SHS Families,

I hope your family has had a wonderful start to the new year. As we settle back into our routines, I am writing to share a few updates designed to keep our students safe and focused on their learning.

📌Our Daily Schedule

To help your student plan their day, here is our current bell schedule. Students may arrive as early as 7:15 for breakfast and they must be in their first period class by 7:50 AM. On Wednesdays only, students must be in their first period class by 8:20 AM.

Bell schedule, find details here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1id4vt-wWF72aJoQQIDIDOsfj8cVBfpn8/edit?usp=sharing&rtpof=true&sd=true

📌New Tardy Policy (Effective January 21, 2026)

To minimize classroom disruptions, we are implementing a revised attendance policy starting Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Please note the following definitions for late arrivals:

  • Tardy: A student arriving at class within the first 5 minutes after the bell will be marked "Tardy."

  • Unexcused Absence: A student arriving more than 5 minutes after the bell will be marked with an "Unexcused Absence" for that period.

📌Closed Campus Reminder

Superior High School is a closed campus. This means students stay with us on school grounds from arrival until dismissal, including during lunch. The purpose of being a closed campus is to maximize student safety by keeping students under our supervision for the duration of the school day.

We truly appreciate your partnership in helping our students build great habits and stay safe. If you have any questions or if there is anything we can do to support your student, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,

Ryan Haroldson

SHS Principal

Art Recognition

Congratulations to Ava Hill! A huge round of applause for Art 4 student Ava Hill for receiving a Gold Key for her artwork, Entwined. Ava is a true innovator in our art department. Known for her leadership and her ability to draw deep inspiration from her personal life, she has created a piece that is as meaningful as it is beautiful. The Gold Key is a prestigious honor that recognizes the very best in student art, and we couldn't be prouder to see Ava’s hard work and creativity celebrated at this level.
