Thanking Our Teachers

Dear Cache Community,

May is a time of momentum in our schools. The final stretch of the year is filled with performances, competitions, field days, assessments, and celebrations of learning. It is also a time to pause and recognize the people who make all of this possible.

Over spring break, I had the chance to spend time with my two-year-old grandson. Like many grandparents, I found myself watching closely - how he explores, how he learns, and how quickly he is growing. And I couldn’t help but think about the many people who will shape his life in the years ahead.

Kayden Calder, a 2026-2027 Assistant Principal at Mountain Crest HS, smiles.

Please welcome Kayden Calder as a 2026-27 Assistant Principal at Mountain Crest HS

Kayden grew up in Garden City, Utah. He graduated from Utah State University and began his career in education with Tooele County School District in 2017 as an English teacher, where he also coached high school basketball. In 2022, Kayden earned his master’s degree in Educational Leadership, which launched his transition into school administration.

Over the last four years as an administrator, Kayden has been centered on positive student relationships, supporting faculty and staff, and partnering with his community. He considers this transition to Cache County School District a dream come true.

Kayden and his wife, Shantell, have been married for eleven years, and they enjoy raising their three children. He also enjoys sports, music, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

Mr. Henke has a genuine love for the process of learning and is passionate about creating a school environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and connected.

Outside of school, Todd enjoys spending time with his family, especially on road trips in their 1987 Winnebago—currently needing a new transmission—and has a well-known appreciation for chocolate ice cream (the more chocolate, the better).
