KNIGHT OF THE WEEK SPOTLIGHT
Jude Eley
Our Knight of the week goes to Jude Eley
Jude brings an incredible positive energy to our school every single day. He is incredibly respectful, polite, and always greets everyone with a bright smile, a warm hello, and a thoughtful "have a good day." What truly stands out about Jude is his eagerness to get involved and his readiness to help. He constantly looks out for his peers and our school environment, always volunteering to clean up classroom materials, even when they were left behind by someone else.
Thank you, Jude, for your outstanding character, helpful spirit, and for making our school a brighter place for everyone!

A Friendly Reminder: Need Your Help
First of all, thanks for all you do every day to make Gray Stone what it is!
We've noticed an increase in food being brought into the long hall, classrooms, lockers, and locker rooms—and it's creating challenges. The extra crumbs and spills attract unwanted pests and add significant work to our dedicated custodial staff.
Here's where we need your help: please remember that meals belong in the Commons. We have plenty of large trash cans there specifically for this purpose, making cleanup easy and keeping our shared learning spaces pest-free.
Many of you are already doing a wonderful job with this, and we truly appreciate your partnership. For those still working on it, we ask for your support in redirecting yourselves to finish meals in the Commons rather than in classrooms or other spaces. Eating during instruction isn't just disruptive and disrespectful to teachers and peers—it also detracts from learning.
Together, we can keep our building clean, welcoming, and focused on learning.
WE CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS!
Leave It Better Than You Found It
Poor Dr. Smith has to regularly spend time gathering and cleaning up trash and leftover food items from the outdoor tables and pavilion after lunch; keeping our campus clean starts with each of us..
A clean campus is something we create together. After finding trash and leftover food on tables outside and beneath the pavilion, Dr. Smith, along with the custodial team, stepped in to collect it. Her reminder is simple: our students are capable of doing better—and small choices make a big difference.
Before heading to class, practice the two-minute cleanup: take your trash, wipe up spills, and leave the space ready for the next person. Families and staff can help reinforce this shared expectation. Let’s show pride in our school by treating every campus space with care.
Take action: Pause, look around, and leave your spot cleaner than you found it. Come on; we've got this!
Students need parent/guardian permission to attend. Here is the link:

Exquisite Corpse Project
For Halloween this year, the Gray Stone Day School high school Art Students did a project called an Exquisite Corpse. Students were given a body part, the list of possible body parts were; Head, Torso, or legs to complete the artwork for. The only requirements for the artwork were, the image must be school appropriate and must try and have a five inch section on the edge of the paper to connect to the other parts. After the artwork is completed the body parts are compiled to complete the Exquisite Corpse. The Art Classes this year did not have enough students to complete all of the corpses, so the Mr. Honeycutt, one of Gray Stone's History teachers was willing to complete the last head. See the completed corpses in the attached photos.
