Online Book Club (Facebook)
It's a new year and another opportunity to better understand white supremacy and our (yes, *our*) part in upholding it.
After a very successful and meaningful study, via Zoom, of this life-changing book last year, weโre now offering an online version with a little more flexibility. It started on Jan. 14th but there is still time to join in!
A new chapter will be presented each Wednesday and you can check in at any point during the week to share your thoughts and see what others have to say.

Our Message...
In the wake of the murder in Minnesota, fear is real, and it is intentional. Violence against protesters is meant to silence, intimidate, and deter collective action.
We will not succumb to fear. We know that solidarity, not silence, is what drives change.
We grieve, we resist, and we continue to show up together.

February is Black History Month
2026 marks 100th anniversary of Black History Month!
Black History Month began in 1926 when historian Dr Carter G. Woodson created the Negro History Week as an act of resistance against the erasure of of Black History in US education. What started as a week grew through the work of educators, organizers and communities demanding recognition. In 1976, it became Black History Month.

Post Tramatic Slave Syndrome by Dr Joy DeGruy
A result of twelve years of quantitative and qualitative research, Dr. DeGruy developed her theory of Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome,
PTSS is a condition that exists as a consequence of multigenerational oppression enslaved Africans and their descendants resulting from centuries of chattel slavery. This was then followed by institutionalized racism which continues to perpetuate injury.
The book addresses the residual impacts of generations of slavery and opens up the discussion of how the black community can use the developed strengthsfrom the past to heal in the present.
The book is available online in a slideshow here
