Thank you Ms. Hardiman!

Ms. Hardiman, our technologist, had her last day at Carpenter on Friday. She has accepted a position at Maine South High School. We will be supported by District Office for the remainder of the year in the event you get an email from someone whose name you don't recognize. We wish Ms. Hardiman much success and have appreciated her support and commitment to Carpenter over the last several years!

Picnic Lunches Outside This Week

Ok, so it isn't going to look exactly like the picture, but the weather is going to be beautiful this week and our kids keep asking us to eat outside. So, when we get the opportunity this week, we're going to eat as a school outside as we have in the past. Please send your child to school with a towel this week that they can keep in their locker. (Given our Lost and Found issues this year, I'd recommend not sending your favorite)

Bus Parents: When You Take Child From Bus Line

At the end of the day, we have an attendance tracking system for those students who ride the bus for safety and emergency purposes. We utilize a google form to track attendance that we can easily access who is on what bus every day. If students do not ride the bus, they simply do not get checked. It is EXCEPTIONALLY IMPORTANT that if you opt to pick up your child from school out of the bus line, that you notify the supervisor and don't just tell your child to come with you as they are on the way to the bus. When our kids are walking to the bus, their attendance has already been taken. Please go to the south gym door and tell Mrs. Grosso or Mrs. Norman (or substitute) that "x" is going home with you so they can appropriately uncheck student from our list. This only applies if/when you pick up your child from the actual bus line. Thanks for your cooperation in helping us keep all of our kids safe.

Track-a-Thon, Basketball Winners & Prizes

We had winners from Track-a-Thon back in the fall and March Madness and just wanted parents to be aware of the follow-up.

This Wednesday, our classroom winners, will be gathered for their kickball game with us at 2:10 pm. We will be notifying them.

Lunch with the principal winners will be selecting a couple of friends and having lunch with me on Thursday, June 1st in our courtyard (soon to be renovated courtyard}!

Mr. Degman and I are coordinating with Mrs. Johnson for our basketball game.

CoVid Communicating

This year, instead of sending out an email for CoVid cases, we will be updating a slide on our website. Please bookmark this page if interested in keeping tabs of our current cases and associated homerooms. I'll leave this in my weekly updates as well, but I'll gradually move this towards the bottom of the reading material.
