Preschoolers Arrive Monday!
We will welcome preschool students on Monday, 9 September! For drop-off, please arrive at 9:00 so that you may use the area directly in front of the school before buses arrive to drop off. Older siblings may enter and sit on the Big Stairs, where they will be supervised until 9:10 when they can go to their classes. Pick up will be at the playground. Park in the same area but closer to the playground.
We can't wait to welcome our youngest students!

One Book, One School
One Book, One School Piper Chen Sings
Thank you, Mrs. Shannon and Dr. Scollins, for coming to read to our students! This year, every classroom has a copy of Piper Chen Sings, by Phillipa Soo and Pasquale Doran. It is a beautifully illustrated (Qin Leng) story of a young girl coping through feeling nervous. Mrs. Shannon and Dr. Scollins read to first and second grade and Mrs. Gaudette will read to kindergarten this week.
We are grateful to one of our Reading Specialists, Liz Deininger, for coordinating the efforts to bring this story and activities surrounding it to all Osgood students.
Safe Snack List
Please pack your child's snack separate from their lunch.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures- I will leave this up for reference for a bit
Staff have carefully planned procedures for arrival and dismissal, prioritizing the safety of all students. When the adults follow the procedures in place, not only are you modeling for your children that rules are there for everyone, you are ensuring the safety of our community.
Arrival procedures begin at 9:10. Please do not drop students before 9:10, as there is no supervision before then.
Bus Riders
An adult will meet the bus and will release students to line up with their class.
Parents may not park and walk in. For the safety of all students, if you drive in, you must come through the valet, saying goodbye to students in the car.
Car Riders
Cars will queue through the middle of the parking lot. PLEASE DO NOT PULL IN BEHIND BUSES. As cars pull through, staff will assist in getting students out of cars and safely to the front of the building, where they will line up with their classes.
Walkers
Again, please do not park and walk up with your child. Students enter school and go straight to their classrooms.
All Students may go directly to classes
For Dismissal, car riders will be called into the valet lineup as parents come through. Thank you for your patience as we learn the vehicles and parents of our newest students.
Walkers will be dismissed out the cafeteria door, closest to the playground.
Just a Reminder- Dogs are not allowed on campus
For the safety of our children and staff, dogs are not allowed on campus, including during drop-off and pick-up. If your family has a service dog, please have them wear the appropriate identification.
Transportation
For information regarding school transportation, please visit the transportation page on the new CPS website. All students must be registered through transportation to ride the bus. However, buses are full at this time and they are placing students on wait lists.
