Dear Lions Families,

Welcome to LaVorgna Elementary School! We know how excited your child is to begin his/her TK/Kindergarten experience. We look forward to a great school year and we are committed to working together to provide a wonderful experience for your child.

Schedule

Our schedules are as followed:

Early Birds/AM- 8:50 to 12:55 Monday-Friday
Late Birds/PM- 10:25 to 2:30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 8:50-12:55 on Wednesdays

Modified Days

Every Wednesday is a Modified Day (with some exceptions throughout the school year-please see TVUSD student calendar below). On modified days, TK and Kindergarten Early Bird and Late Birds will attend school from 8:50 a.m. to 12:55 p.m.

Am/ PM Preference

We will do our best to accommodate your preferences, however, there are no guarantees. Preference is given in order received. You will be notified of your student's official placement in late June.

BASES Information and Application

Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures for TK/Kinder

AM Drop Off: All TK/Kindergarten students enter the gate directly in front of the Kindergarten playground. Please ensure TK/Kinder students are escorted safely to their gates in the morning. A staff member will be posted at this gate at all times to supervise students entering and ensuring that no students leave once they are dropped off.

PM Pick Up: All TK/Kindergarten students will exit the gate directly in front of the Kindergarten playground. Students will line up with their class and will be dismissed by staff one at a time. We will ask the child, "Show me your person," and we use this generic statement because there are so many different people who pick up children from school (mom, dad, grandparent, family friend, etc.). We kindly ask that whoever is picking up the child remains visible at the gate so the child can locate them, point to them, and be acknowledged before the staff member dismisses them into their care. We follow this protocol out of an abundance of caution as we want to ensure that all children are accounted for as they leave our school.

PLEASE NOTE: Wednesdays are all school dismissal at 12:55 pm. Please DO NOT park or leave your car at the front of the school loop on Wednesdays. You will need to park in the parking lot in order to pick up your child.
