November Newsletter 2025

Happy November Badgers! We’re loving all the fall weather and excitement here at Brandywine. In the counseling world, K-2 is continuing to work through the Zones of Regulation and 3-5 is continuing to work on executive functioning skills. In K-2 we wrapped up the Blue Zone and focused on what to do when we feel sad. Our second graders traveled to different stations to practice multiple helpful tools. For kindergarten and first grade, our focus was discussing people we could go to when we are having a bad day. First graders made a Positive People Pumpkin Patch to recognize the positive people in their life. Kindergarteners made an Awesome Adult Apple Orchard to recognize the awesome adults in their life. Sometimes when we’re having a bad day, the best thing we can do is talk to someone we love. Please continue to have these important conversations at home. In 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, Ms. Lundy is having students work on flexible thinking, emotional control, and response inhibition. Encourage your student to share more about what they learned.

On the horizon, we have our first Coffee & Conversations on Wednesday, November 19th at 7:45am. We will have this in person, and we will have a Team’s Meeting link if you are unable to join us. For this C & C, we will be talking about PBIS at Brandywine and how you can implement PBIS at home. This will be informative and interactive. Look at the RSVP HERE for more information or look at the QR code attached. We hope to see you there!

On Saturday, November 22nd, we will be hosting our community outreach event at Brandywine. We will have The Place’s mobile pantry and we will have the Forsyth Community Clinic’s mobile clinic. Please see the flyer attached and spread the word. All in need are welcome. Additionally, if you and/or your family is interested in doing something active, Forsyth County is hosting a glow run on Sunday, November 16th. The 2025 Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow Glow Run for Educators 5K, is a fun run/walk that raises scholarship funds for FCS educators to pursue further education. For more information, please check out the flyer attached or click HERE.

During this month of November, we will be encouraging our students to focus on what they’re grateful for. It’s the perfect time to reflect on all the things that we have in our life that continue to make a difference. Take a moment to discuss this with your student and share what you’re grateful for as well. We hope you have a great November! Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We’re happy to help.

Love,

Lizzie McDevitt & Jess Lundy
