Eastside Elementary

Dear Eastside Families,

April and May are truly two of the busiest—and most exciting—months of the school year here at Eastside Elementary. From concerts and field trips to community partner events, WY-TOPP state assessments, talent shows, and so much more, our school is alive with energy, celebration, and achievement.

One of the highlights of April was our 8th Annual Walk-a-Thon, and what an incredible event it was! In just 60 minutes, our students, staff, and even parents came together to walk and run an astonishing 746 miles. Even more impressive, thanks to the generosity of our families and business sponsors, we raised an outstanding $28,173.15 for our school.

A heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to the Cody Police Department, Park County Sheriff’s Office, and Park County Fire District #2 for joining us and helping make the event extra special for our students. We are also incredibly grateful to Eastside’s PTK for organizing and coordinating this fantastic event, along with our dedicated parent and staff volunteers who made the day run so smoothly.

We are also thrilled to share some exciting academic news. Preliminary WY-TOPP ELA results are in, and our students have demonstrated incredible learning and growth this year! Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are well ahead of last year, and FAR AHEAD of the Wyoming State average in ELA achievement—an extraordinary accomplishment!

These results represent a true TEAM effort—our classroom teachers, Title and SPED staff, specials teachers, paraprofessionals, students, and families, as well as the strong foundation built in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Together, we SOAR, and we will be celebrating this success in the days and weeks ahead!

As we head into May, there is so much to look forward to as we continue celebrating student growth and achievement. From pancake parties and pool celebrations at the Rec. Center to a PTK funded movie day, cotton candy, and ice cream—we celebrate learning at Eastside.

Please join us during the first week of May for our final Book Fair of the year—a great opportunity to support literacy and foster a love of reading at home.

Thank you for being such an important part of the Eastside community. Your support, involvement, and pride make all the difference for our students. Together, we continue to SOAR!

GO EAGLES!
