Welcome Back!
We hope you had a restful and rejuvenating weekend. Last week was filled with energy and excitement, and we are so proud of the growth and spirit shown by our students! From high-level scientific achievements to creative opportunities in the classroom, there is so much to celebrate at Clearwater. Take a look below at our recent highlights and the exciting events coming up this week!
Book Fair Week: Our Scholastic Book Fair is running all week! It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to discover new stories and for families to support our school library.
Open House: We can’t wait to see you this Thursday, April 23, from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM. Come explore the amazing projects our students have been working on.
Educational Partner Surveys: Your voice matters! Please take a moment to complete the Title I Parent Survey and the District LCAP Survey found in the links below. Your feedback directly impacts our planning and budget priorities.
Let’s make it another great week at Clearwater!
FUN RUN
What an incredible day of energy! Our annual 5K Fun Run was a success, bringing together students, families, and staff for a morning of healthy activity and laughter. Events like these bring the community together and we are already looking forward to seeing everyone back on the track next year!
We have to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to Mr. Ochoa for being such a good sport and stepping up to the challenge of the Mascot Race! He shined in the Clearwater "Dolphin" suit with pride, even if as many of you noticed our mascot looked more like "Mommy Shark" this year. Thank you, Mr. Ochoa, for bringing so many smiles to our students' faces and for showing us all what true school spirit looks like!
STEAM INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT
We are thrilled to highlight the incredible work of our Kindergarten and 4th Grade students in our recent ART PBL (Project-Based Learning) Showcases! By intentionally integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, our students aren't just creating—they are problem-solving and innovating. These showcases prove that when we connect the "A" in STEAM, students develop a deeper, more meaningful relationship with both the world around them and their own creativity.
CALIFORNIA SCIENCE FAIR
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Kathryn Jimenez, who was recently recognized at the Perris Elementary School District Board meeting for her outstanding performance in the Riverside County Science Fair.
Kathryn’s hard work and curiosity earned her the prestigious opportunity to represent both Clearwater Elementary and Riverside County at the California State Science Fair. Reaching the state level is a phenomenal achievement and serves as a testament to Kathryn’s passion for scientific inquiry, as well as the wonderful support from her family.
Please join us in congratulating Kathryn on this remarkable success! We can’t wait to see where her scientific journey takes her next.
National School Breakfast Week Celebration
National School Breakfast Week is a dedicated time to highlight the importance of a healthy morning meal in fueling student success. To encourage healthy habits and increase participation, our school hosted a special daily raffle for students who joined us for breakfast. Each morning a student ate a school meal, they earned an entry for a chance to win exciting prizes!
We are so proud of all our "breakfast champions" who fueled up for learning. A special shout-out goes to our raffle winners:
Kindergarten: Tabitha Ho
2nd Grade: Emiliano Garcia
6th Grade: Leah Castaneda & Shaliyah Ross
FIN- TASTIC Office Referral
.
In an effort to celebrate the many students who do the right thing even when no one is watching, we are launching our Fin-Tastic Office Referrals. Teachers and staff will award to deserving students. When a student receives an award, Ms. Farfan and/or Dr. Feiler will speak with the student about the positive event or situation that led to the recognition.
We are proud to announce recipient of a Fin-tastic Referral: Giannah from Ms. Balys received a Fin-tastic award for finding a certificate/coupon and returning it to its owner. We are proud of Giannah for being a great classmate.
YOUR VOICE MATTERS: EDUCATIONAL PARTNER SURVEYS
As part of our end-of-the-year district and school site planning process, we are seeking your invaluable input. As our educational partners, your feedback helps us understand how we can best serve the needs of your student and the community.
Please take a moment to complete the following:
Clearwater Title I Parent and Family Engagement Survey: Helps us tailor our school-specific programs and resources.
District LCAP Survey: Informs the district’s goals and budget priorities for the coming year.
We appreciate your time and input as we work together to continuously improve our school and district for every student.
