The Scholastic Book Fair is Coming!
We’re excited to announce that our Scholastic Book Fair will be held from December 8-12, 2025! It’s a great opportunity for students to discover new books and grow their love of reading.
To make shopping easier, families can set up a Scholastic eWallet—a safe, cash-free way for your child to shop at the fair. Set one up and add funds at: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/greenbriarelementaryschool3
Don’t forget to Share the Fair! Once your eWallet is set up, you can invite friends and family to contribute so your reader can pick out even more great books.
Your child will shop at the fair on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 during their library class. If your child is shopping please make sure to have money loaded to their eWallet that morning. If they are bringing cash, please have it in an envelope or ziplock bag with their name and teacher name.
** The Book Fair will be open 1 hour before the Holiday Cabaret on Thursday, December 11, 2025 for families to be able to shop together. **
A few notes this past week left by our elf, 67
Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather as we will go outside for recess as long as it is 20 degrees "feels like" temperature and/or precipitation-free. They should have a heavy coat, gloves, and a hood or hat, please. If you need something, please ask.
Students may keep a sweatshirt, sweater, or hoodie at school for when they are cool inside the school.
Weekly Homework Packet
Weekly homework packet for December 8-12 Due on Friday, December 12
The Homework Packet is sent home each Monday, and it is due by Friday (signed) each week. Each week your child will complete the packet. The packet is made up of a spiral review of Reading, English, and Math skills. Each skill area is separated by day. Students should tun in packet with each day finished by Friday of each week. The students will have a quiz on the topics in the weekly packet. Please sign the reading log. If a child completes his/her homework and returns it, then he/she will earn Superhero Points to spend at the Superhero Store each month. The is scored for Superhero Store Points based on the completion percentage (see above). It is for the practice and family interaction. In a few weeks students will have spelling words to practice. When spelling starts they will get their words in the Homework Packet on Mondays. Students will have a pre-test on Wednesdays and the Final Test on Fridays. The pre-test test is on Wednesday, and if they get 100% correct on the pre-test, they will use that score and will not test on Friday. Remember you can complete the book borrowing sheet and your child will bring home some books at their reading level. The books can be returned at anytime during the week or on Fridays.
