YWA Updates
November 11th, 2024
Progress Reports were sent home on Friday!
Please help us monitor your student's grades! Progress reports were sent home on Friday, and you can also check your student's grades via the Parent Portal. Celebrate their achievements!
If your student is falling behind, encourage them to check in with their teacher. There’s still time to make up assignments and improve their grades if needed. We want our students to take the lead in this process to learn self-advocacy and become self-directed! We're here to support them as needed. Please note that students not passing their courses by the end of the fall semester will be placed on academic probation, and their transfer may be revoked.
The fall semester wraps up in December, and the next few weeks will go by quickly! Please make sure your student stays on top of their grades. High school students are required to take semester exams but may qualify for a waiver. See the criteria below:
High School students may qualify for a semester exam waiver if they meet the following requirements
1. Enrolled in an AP Course
2. Have a GPA of 90% or higher in the AP Course
3. Have three or fewer absences for the AP Course
Support our PTSO Fundraiser!
Please support our PTSO’s biggest fundraiser of the year! Our goal is to raise $30,000, which we can achieve if every student reaches $65 in donations. We have big dreams of updating our current marquee to a digital one and constructing a concession stand that will benefit our Warriors for years to come. Every donation counts! Students who reach their goal of $65 will be given a free dress day pass and much more!
To donate, go to: https://vraise.org/gKTkdZ. Share the link with family, friends, and colleagues! Donations can be a tax write-off for you and any participating business.
Fall Dance for Middle School- November 15
We will host our Fall Middle School Dance this Friday! Admission is $5.00. The dance will take place during school hours, from 2:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Concessions will be available for students to purchase snacks. Students are required to be in uniform due to visitors on campus.
Visitors- Dress to Impress Wednesday & Friday!
Can Food and Toy Drive Coming Soon!
We are excited to launch our Food and Toy Drive this week! Each year, we ask students to donate food pantry items to support families in need and toys for children during the holiday season. This is our way of bringing the community together to give back and encouraging students to volunteer for two deserving causes.
Thanksgiving Food Drive: A flyer with specific details will be sent home. Each grade level will be assigned a category of food to donate. StuCo will collect donations in the cafeteria each morning from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. through 11/20. Those who donate will receive a free dress day on our early release day, 11/22- This is an Early Release Day!
Toy Drive: Dr. Plaza's 6th-grade advisory class is organizing a campus-wide toy drive! Stay tuned for more information.
