Welcome to First Grade! I’m Mrs. Stremel and it’s my pleasure to welcome your child to our class this year! I have been teaching for over 20 years and 16 of those years I have spent at San Elijo Elementary. I look forward to getting to know all of you soon and sharing in the growth of your children this year. I hope to bring my enthusiasm about learning into the class each day. I love spending time with my husband, two daughters (both in Universities), and son (SEMS) hiking, biking, yoga, traveling, reading, or at the beach. I am looking forward to working with you to make this a successful year of wonder and growth for your child. I am looking forward to meeting your child Tuesday morning at 8:30 am on Zoom. During the first week of school, your child will be practicing and learning how to login to Zoom, Google Classroom, and memorizing their username and password. My hope is that we will all work together to help your child experience growth & success. Below are some links and directions that you can watch with your child to help them learn how to login to Google Cloud, Google Classroom, and Zoom before Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, your child will need to login to Zoom using the Zoom link. If possible, please help your child practice using the Zoom Link in "Stremel 2020-2021 LEVS First Grade Google Classroom." It is great practice having your child login to our classes' Google Classroom because this is where the Zoom Link will be all year for your child.

You can also use the Zoom Tile that is in Google Cloud if you are having trouble logging into "Stremel 2020-2021 LEVS Google Classroom." If you are having problems with Google Cloud and Google Classroom, your child can use the link attached in this newsletter. I hope this makes sense!

On Tuesday, students will need to sign in to cloud.smusd.org to access Google Classroom and Zoom. Students will sign in with their Student ID and password. Please watch the following video to learn how: SMUSD Cloud

Here's are the directions to sign in to SMUSD Cloud:

1) First, login to https://sanelijoelementary.smusd.org/ homepage and click on the "SMUSD Cloud Login" Quick Link on the SEES website home page.

2) Second, type in username and password to sign in to SMUSD Cloud.

Student Login Information Username:

Student ID # (8 digit Number, email me if needed, eg., 650#####)

Password: Student birthdate (4 digit year, 2 digit month, and 2 digit day), eg., 20130218

3) Third, you are in SMUSD CLOUD - Once logged into SMUSD Cloud you will be able to access Google Classroom.

4) Fourth, click on the Google Classroom Tile and follow the directions below to access our "Stremel 2020-2021 LEVS First Grade" Google Classroom.

Students will be using the Google Classroom platform to access instruction and assignments during remote learning. Students can access Google Classroom by logging into the SMUSD Cloud and clicking on the Google Classroom tile.

Once in SMUSD Cloud, Click on the "Google Classroom" Tile. Next, click the + (plus/add) button on the top. It will ask you to "join class" using a code. Our Classroom Code is: cyv7oku
