April brings blessings of renewal, warmth, and fresh starts,

signaling nature's bridge from winter to summer.

Third Quarter Grades were released on 04/20/2026

School remains in session through June 26. All students are required to report to school on that day to receive their fourth-quarter report cards; report cards will not be distributed electronically.

The period from June 15 through June 26 is designated for final and state examinations. Attendance is mandatory, and students are expected to be present at the scheduled date and time of each exam.

Failure to attend a scheduled school exam will result in a score of zero. If a student misses a June Regents exam, they must retake it during the August testing period in order to return to Preston in September.

All year-end exams must be completed to fulfill grade-level requirements. Failure to complete these exams constitutes a failure to complete the grade, which will result in ineligibility to continue enrollment at Preston.

Requests for exam make-ups due to serious illness or bereavement will only be considered with appropriate documentation. Absences due to travel, sports, or participation in special interest programs will not be considered for make-up exams.

On Saturday March 28th, we hosted the Mother Daughter Brunch at the Marina Del Rey. We welcomed 86 students and their moms, grandmas, stepmoms and godmoms for an afternoon of good food, fun and dancing! We hope to see you there next year!

The annual reunion, in celebration of class years ending in 1s and 6s, welcomed back over 100 alumnae. It was an afternoon filled with old friends and nostalgia. Thank you to our officiant Fr. David Moreno, SDB and to Posto 22 for the delicious meal. Next year, we will be celebrating 2s and 7s so stay tuned for the date, if that's you!

Join us for the 17th Annual Golf Outing on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026. This year, we are honoring the NYPD and FDNY as our goal is to raise funds for the grant that we offer to those families. There are several ways to get involved: become a sponsor, join us for the day, send this to your local precinct/firehouse or friend in the NYPD/FDNY. Iris was honored with the 2026 Black Girl Magic Award, presented and hosted by Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, City Council Member Althea Stevens, Assembly Member Chantel Jackson, and Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark.

This award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their community, and Iris’s dedication and efforts truly shined. We are so proud of her achievement and grateful for the support from Preston High School that helped her reach this milestone.

This year - the charity of Dance Marathon was "Compassion Connection UA" - a not for profit organization that helps Ukrainians affected by the Russian Invasion. $1200 raised at this year's Dance Marathon was donated through Compassion Connection UA to "Misto Dobra" (translated to City of Goodness). This organization is "a major charitable, non-governmental shelter in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, providing refuge to women, children, and elderly people escaping war and domestic violence."

In addition to raising $1200, Preston students put together Easter Bags for 100 children - which included toiletries, stuffed animals, coloring books, as well as toys and candies in plastic easter eggs.

As an added surprise, Preston's Wonder Girls Club donated 40 care packages for the women in the City of Goodness, so that they too can enjoy an Easter gift.

All packages have been sent to Ukraine and are set to arrive before the Ukrainian Orthodox Easter, which is celebrated on Sunday April 12.
