Principal's Update
Thank You, PTO!
As you will see below, students and staff participated in two incredibly engaging and fun days with the Crocodile River Performers. Thank you to the PTO for bringing this amazing group back again!
Electronic Devices
Using personal electronic devices including smartphones and smartwatches is not permissible during the school day (including bus rides to and from school). If brought to school, all personal electronic devices including smartphones and smartwatches must be turned off and kept inside their backpack. The school will not be responsible in the event that the device is lost, stolen, or damaged while on school property. Unauthorized student use of electronic devices during the school day will result in the device being confiscated. The device will be returned to the student and/or the parent after a conference with an administrator. In the event that a parent deems it necessary to contact their child during the school day, they may do so by contacting the main office directly.
Student Pick-Up Reminder
Vinal Preschool dismisses at 3:10 PM, and families follow the same procedures that our K-5 families follow. If you are picking up a child in K-5 and arrive before 3:15 PM, please park in a designated spot before joining the pick-up loop so that our PreK families can access their children.
Updates from Nurse Kristen
It is that time of year when we start to see lots of bugs around the school, please see the following guidelines for when your child should stay home and return after being sick.
Fever (>100.0° Fahrenheit or higher), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea:
Stay home until 24 hours after symptoms resolved AND fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.
If your child has vomiting/diarrhea, they must be out of school for 24 hours from the last occurrence and feeling up to making it the school day; often, it can take a day or two after a stomach virus to feel up to the whole school day.
If your child has flu-like symptoms, they must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication and feel better enough to make it to school.
If your child has tested positive for COVID, they may return when they are fever-free for 24 hours and feeling up to returning to school; a mask is optional during those 5 days after testing positive.
Thank you for helping keep our school community healthy this cold and flu season.

Vinal PTO
We are thrilled to share an update on the recent in-school enrichment activity, Crocodile River, which was made possible by your generous sponsorship and a $1,000 grant from the Norwell Cultural Council. Over two unforgettable days, students across all grades were immersed in the vibrant culture and rhythms of Africa. The experience included: African Drumming sessions for our 3rd and 5th graders, allowing them to feel the heartbeat of traditional music firsthand. Interactive Dancing demonstrations for the remaining classes, where students engaged in dynamic and joyful movement. Engaging assemblies for all grades, bringing the Crocodile River story and African culture to life. A two-week art installation in the school, offering students an opportunity to explore and enjoy a stunning visual representation of the programs themes. The magic of this experience was truly inspiring, and it’s all thanks to the unwavering support of the PTO and the incredible generosity of our community. Your commitment to enriching our student’s education is invaluable, and we are so grateful for all you do to make opportunities like this possible. Thank you for helping us bring the world to our classrooms and creating lasting memories for our students!
