Nurse Sammie News:
- Eye Van consents are due no later than 9/9 - this is not a requirement, but an opportunity for free eye exam and glasses for kiddos. I sent home consents to students who wear glasses, have seen me for headaches, or if their teachers recommended. The Eye Van will be at Ztizman on 9/12. If your child did NOT receive a consent form but you would like to have this opportunity please reach out to the front office.

Oasis Tutoring
Do you know someone 50+ who would be interested in helping a child learn to love reading and learning? Oasis Intergenerational Tutoring pairs volunteers ages 50+ with children in grades K-3 to work one-on-one each week as their tutors, mentors and friends. They can tutor one child or several, on a one-on-one basis each week throughout the school year.
Anyone interested can sign up today by calling 314-995-9506 or visiting https://st-louis.oasisnet.org/tutoring/. Training will be on October 16 from 9:00-2:00 at Central Office.

Title I News
The purchasing deadline for Cardinal tickets HAS BEEN EXTENDED. Please purchase your tickets by September 20th to help a great cause! We will be sitting together as a school but any and all family, extended family, friends of family are encouraged to purchase tickets for a fun day together at the Ballpark. Tickets are $15 each and include a jumbo hotdog and a soda!
Yoga Club
Yoga Club Forms are coming home TODAY in Thursday Folders!
Is your student interested in a BEFORE school YOGA group?
Mrs. Anding, Kindergarten teacher, is a Level 1 certified YogaKids instructor and will be having a YogaKids group at Zitzman.
Yoga is about exploring and learning in a fun, safe and playful way. Yoga and kids are a perfect match.
The group will meet each Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7:30-8:05 for approximately 6 weeks. There will be a limit on the number of participants we can allow in each session. If your student does not get to be in this session that is starting in October, because a large number of students are interested, they will get to be in a session at another time this school year. There will be a note coming home in each student's Thursday folder on September 26th, if they are in this first session.

Car Line - Dismissal UPDATE MAP!*
Above you will see an updated more colorful map. I think we can all take a deep breathe closing out week 3 and knowing that we have started to get in a groove of a safe, efficient car dismissal when trying to dismiss 200+ students and accomplishing the task within a 13-15 time slot.
*Big picture win is we have all 460 students dismissed to SACC, Bus or Cars before 3:48pm consistently at this point!*
Please note the colors in the picture above:
- GREEN- We load the green line first and they are the first 13 cars (please pull up as close to the sign and car in front of you as possible to ensure we can fit all 13 cars in the front loop.) Our goal is to start our first car line and load between 3:35-3:38pm.
- BLUE- This will be the 2nd set of 13 cars and are still in a single line as they start to make the line OUT of the loop.
- ORANGE- THIS IS AN IMPORTANT DETAIL AND CHANGE. To ensure fairness and wait time based on the time you arrived to get in line THE ORANGE LINE is the third SINGLE LINE of 13. This line should go as far back as Pacific Intermediates crosswalk at their front circle.
- PURPLE- THIS IS THE NEXT IMPORTANT DETAIL. If you pull up and the first single line is all the way back at the PI entrance I need you to start the DOUBLE LINE. This will ensure that we stay off Osage. You will be the fourth line of 13 that will pull around to the loop to pick up your kiddo.
- YELLOW- At this point we will do our best for fairness but I would like to call the yellow lines more 'free game'. The goal of the yellow lines is to STAY DOUBLED and continue in two lines towards the front. Mrs. Savin MUST scan your card in order for you to pull into the loop. At this point of scanning and the car line we have uneven lines but they still must stay DOUBLED. I will try to be down there or always have two people down there so you know if you need to stop and who you can follow to start the next line once your card is scanned. *When you pull into the YELLOW line territory there is a good chance that the blue and orange line have already moved up and through the loop and you may need to continue that double line way up to the start of where the double line stops and goes into a single line. This will also ensure that we never go to a single line in the PI parking lot and backed up to Osage!
This truly takes a team and patience. I applaud and am grateful for the trust and compassion that you have shown our staff and students these first weeks as well all settle into this new year!
