FC November 2025 Family Newsletter
Welcome to November!
As we turn the calendar to November, it’s a time to pause and reflect on gratitude. At Fishing Creek, we have so much to be thankful for—students who show kindness and curiosity every day, families who partner with us in learning, and staff who go above and beyond to create a safe, engaging, and caring school environment.
This month brings many exciting opportunities for learning and connection. From classroom projects to upcoming celebrations, our school continues to shine because of the teamwork and Shark spirit that define our community. As we head toward the Thanksgiving season, let’s all take a moment to appreciate how far we’ve come and look ahead to finishing 2025 strong—together.

Sharks of the Month
🦈💙 Sharks of the Month – October! 💙🦈
This month, we celebrated students who demonstrated Responsibility: taking action and understanding the impact of our choices. Way to go to these amazing Sharks for showing accountability, making thoughtful decisions, and being leaders in our Fishing Creek community!
Picture Retake Day – November 10
Legacy Studios will be at Fishing Creek on November 10 for picture retakes. If your child was absent on picture day or you’d like a new photo, this is your opportunity! Please return the original picture package if you’re requesting a retake.
Shark Folder Reminder
Each evening, please take a few minutes to check your child’s Shark Folder. This is our take-home folder and may include important notes from school, homework, student work, and classroom updates. Reviewing it together helps keep families informed and students organized. Thank you for making this part of your daily routine! 🦈📂
Volunteers Needed - 3rd and 4th GradeShark Store
We’re looking for volunteers to help with the Shark Store for our 3rd and 4th grade students! The Shark Store is always an exciting time for our kids to celebrate their hard work and positive choices. If you’re available to lend a hand, we’d love to have your support in making this event a success.

Lunch Menus
Starting in November, the Primary lunch menu will include four choices daily, with the “hot alternate” item removed for now. This adjustment is meant to simplify options for our younger students. Aramark and the Food Service Department plan to review and possibly reintroduce the fifth option later in the school year.
1. Main entrée
2. Salad or Platter
3.Sandwich or Pack (This does not mean “packer” this is one of the options)
4 PBJ

Drums, Drums, Drums...
The Fishing Creek music room is currently using nine drums and other percussion instruments that we received from a West Shore Foundation Grant. We will be enjoying these until December, when they travel to the next elementary school!
PBIS
Our PBIS focus is on being Safe, Kind, and Responsible especially in the hallways. Students are learning to show respect by walking quietly, keeping hands and feet to themselves, and admiring hallway displays without touching them. By doing so, they help create a calm and respectful school environment where everyone’s work is valued and celebrated.
Let’s keep working together to grow hearts full of gratitude and a school full of respect!
🗣️ Family Discussion Prompts:
What are three things you’re grateful for today?
How can we show gratitude at school and at home?
Why is it important to be safe, kind, and responsible in shared spaces like hallways?
Can you think of someone at school you’d like to thank? What would you say?
Together, let’s help our students grow hearts full of gratitude and habits that show it every day! 💛
