Dear North Penn Students, Families, and Community,

Welcome back to a new school year in the North Penn School District! There’s nothing quite like the energy of the first days of school.

At North Penn, we are proud to be a community where excellence thrives, learning soars, and everyone belongs. With dedicated teachers, staff, and an incredible network of resources, our students have the support needed to grow, achieve, and discover their potential.

Whether you are starting kindergarten or middle school, or preparing for your final year at North Penn High School, remember each one of you is an essential part of what makes our district so strong.

To our dedicated custodial staff, your work often happens behind the scenes, but it makes all the difference. Because of your efforts, our schools are not only prepared, they shine. We are deeply grateful for the pride you take in your work and for the essential role you play in helping North Penn start each school year strong.

Looking towards this school year, we have many exciting things on the horizon! I invite each of you to join in on school board meetings, whether you attend in-person or watch virtually. Our amazing North Penn Television team records each meeting (available on Youtube, Apple TV, Fire TV, ROKU, and broadcast on WNPV 98.5 FM, 1440 AM). There are many ways to get involved and stay informed about school board action and district news, and I encourage us all to remain informed and up-to-date about our community.

On behalf of the School Board, I wish you a joyful, successful, and memorable 2025-26 school year. Let’s make it a year filled with learning, laughter, and North Penn pride.

Unless otherwise noted, meetings of the whole board (action, worksession, finance) will be held in-person at the Educational Services Center (401 E Hancock Street, Lansdale). All other meetings will be held virtually via Zoom and streamed on NPTV. Worksession meetings will be held immediately following the Finance Committee meeting that begins at 6:00 pm, unless noted as listed below.

Residents can watch live on the NPTV YouTube Channel, North Penn News, or NPTV local Comcast 28 and Verizon 29. A recording of this meeting will be available on the NPTV YouTube Channel, and will air on North Penn Television Comcast 28 and Verizon 29 for the next three business days at 12:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

The North Penn School District Board of School Directors is looking for a few good men and women. For the first time since 2021, the board will confer high school diplomas to United States veterans who left high school before graduating to serve in the United States armed services.

The ceremony will be held on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11th, 2025. It is open to veterans currently living in the North Penn School District or who lived in NPSD before leaving high school for the armed services. Veterans do not need to have attended North Penn High School to qualify. Diplomas can also be conferred posthumously.

Veterans or family members of veterans interested in participating should contact the NPSD Office of School/Community Services at 215-853-1020 by Friday, October 10th, to arrange for a diploma and participation in the ceremony. For verification purposes, copies of discharge papers will be requested for all of those participating.

The ECI Committee did not meet in July.

The Facilities and Operations Committee met on Monday, July 28, 2025, in a virtual format.

The Committee reviewed the following items to be moved to the action meeting for the Board’s consideration:

• 2025-26 Concrete Replacement Bid Award
• Rejection of the 2025-26 Job Source Contracting Bids
• Approval to Advertise for Re-Bidding of the 2025-26 Job Source Contracting Bids

The committee was presented with and discussed information items, including:

• Video presentation of the construction project update
• Project update from CHA
• Update on the 10 year capital project plan

Meeting Video

The Finance Committee met on August 5, 2025. The following items were reviewed:

• Revenue and expense projections
• General fund financial reports
• Earned Income and Realty Transfer Tax revenue history
• The monthly investment report
• Enterprise fund statements
• Short-term capital projects cash forecast

The Policy Committee did not meet in July.

The Safe Schools Committee did not meet in July.

The Foundation did not meet in July but its Build-A-Bag campaign was once again very successful with thousands of dollars in school supplies being donated. Backpacks were stuffed and delivered to schools on August 19th. Any student in need should contact their school and a backpack will be provided.
