Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year! We have high expectations for our students and are looking forward to a great year! As this year unfolds, if you ever have a question or concern about academics or classroom expectations, please call your child's teacher; any other concerns may be addressed with your child's principal. Although teachers are unable to answer phone calls during the school day, calls will be returned to you, so please leave a detailed voicemail.

Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success - both in school and in life. Making school attendance a priority helps your child get better grades, develops healthy life skills, encourages positive behaviors, and gives them a much higher chance of academic success.

Our Main Office Secretaries are the ladies you will see the most when you arrive at school or the ones you will speak to when you call the school. They are very knowledgeable about our school, staff, activities and students, and will be happy to assist you!

Please make sure that you are keeping your contact information updated on Final Forms. This is the primary form of communication from the school, so make sure you check your email that we have on file on a regular basis. If you have questions about this, please call the school office.

If you do not know if your child needs any immunizations for school, please call the McGuffey Clinic and our nurses will be able to assist you.

• McGuffey’s Fall Fundraiser starts October 2, 2026 and ends October 19, 2026. Brochures will be passed to students before the fundraiser starts.
• Picture Day is October 21, 2026
• Ohio State Test in ELA for 3rd Grade on October 22, 2026 (Part 1) and October 23, 2026(Part 2).
• The last day of the First Nine Week Grading Period is Wednesday October 28, 2026. Report Cards will be displayed on Parent Access on Tuesday November 3, 2026.
• In October, we will be administering the NNAT-3 to all students in 4th grade for the purpose of identifying giftedness in the areas of Superior Cognitive Ability and Creative Thinking Ability. If you have any questions related to this assessment, please reach out to your pod principal.

Our School Counselors are at the school daily if you need to speak to them. Mrs. Ungaro-Jones is our McGuffey K-4 Counselor and can be reached at ext. 5111. Mr. Middleton is our McGuffey 5-8 Counselor and can be reached at ext. 5232.

At this time, visitors are not permitted in the building unless invited in by one of our administrators. This is for the safety of our children. When visiting the school, please ring the video doorbell located to the far right of the main entry doors, or stop at the front reception window under the canopy. One of our staff members will be available to assist you.

The Student's Guide to Positive Behavior was created to establish and maintain a safe environment for all students and school personnel. The guide sets forth the expected behaviors for students and provides additional useful information about the general operations of our schools and district. It will take the collective efforts of students, parents, teachers, administrators, and our community to create a successful learning environment where all students can excel. Parents are asked to review the Student's Guide for Positive Behavior with their children. Students are expected to conduct themselves consistent with the expectations of our WARREN Acronym and the Student's Guide to Positive Behavior.
