Spring Conferences and The Book Fair Spring Conferences and The Book Fair

Spring Conferences

Our Spring Conferences will be on Wednesday March 19th from 5:30-6:30. These will be student-led and a great chance for your child to showcase all of the wonderful work they have been doing.

We will also have the Book Fair set up in the library that night for families to shop together. Students can come shop during the day on March 18-20 as well. Parents can create an eWallet HERE giving your child access to purchase books without having to send money to school with them.

We also would LOVE to have more parent volunteers help with the registers during the Book Fair. Please see the sign-up below.

Snow Day Make-Up Dates Snow Day Make-Up Dates

School Board Approved Make-Up Days

What a winter we’ve had in Kansas City! This year’s snow and ice led to an unusually high number of inclement weather days, and we appreciate your flexibility.

To meet state guidelines, we need to make up five school days (due to closures on February 12, 18, 19 and 20, and March 5). Pending final approval by the Board of Education next Tuesday, we will now be in session on the following dates:

  • Friday, March 21 – full day

  • Friday, April 18 – full day

  • Tuesday, May 27 – full day

  • Wednesday, May 28 – full day

  • Thursday, May 29 – half day and last day of school

In addition, Friday, May 23, originally scheduled as our last day of school and a half day, will now be a full day.

March 21 and April 18 were previously scheduled as staff professional development days, while May 27, 28 and 29 were noted on our academic calendar as potential make-up days.

These make-up days will follow a normal schedule, with regular instruction and attendance expectations. This decision was made in collaboration with our Collaborative Team for Teacher Negotiations (CTTN) and informed by feedback from students, families, and staff.

Note: There is a possibility the state may decide to forgive one or more of these days due to winter weather impacts across Missouri. If that happens, we will send additional communication.

Thank you,
North Kansas City Schools

Booster Club All School Carnival Booster Club All School Carnival

Our annual school-wide carnival is on Friday, April 11th from 5:30-7:30. Ticket pre-sale order forms will be sent home in backpacks after spring break and are due by April 9th.

This year, we have added even more new games and attractions. There will be a large slide, cotton candy, food trucks, cake walk, balloon artists, face painting, sports games, pig races, a foam pit and many other fun and exciting games. Donations for the cake walk are greatly appreciated and the class with the most donations will get an extra recess.

In order to make this event a success, we need volunteers to help run the games and attractions. We'd prefer adults working each game, but older, responsible siblings would be wonderful as well. You can find the volunteer sign-up HERE or the button below. All volunteers that sign-up ahead of time will receive a free $10 punchcard per shift they work. They will receive their free punchcards on April 11th when they check-in at the volunteer table.
