Afternoon Parents/Guardians,

I hope you've all had an amazing summer so far! As we creep closer to the beginning of the school year, I wanted to share a few updates and help you begin thinking ahead to the 25-26 school year which is just around the corner!

A big welcome to the 5th grade students and families! We are so excited to have you join the GBS crew and can't wait to kick off another amazing year together!

As is often the case, we have a few staff members who have moved on to new opportunities after the 24-25 school year. Please join us in wishing the best to the following staff member:

Katie Hiers - Working in a private practice

Earl Russel - Retired

Sarah Halliday - Teaching out of district

Patrick Cogan - Still at GBS, but moved to Industrial Arts and Technology

Sue Martin - Working at CVHS

Amelia Joseph - Working at CVHS

We are very grateful for their service to our students and school community!

We are also very excited to welcome a few new faces to the Bobcat family.

Logan Phillips - Music Teacher

Pamela Casey - Special Education Coordinator

Robert Allosso - Student Support Counselor

We are pumped to welcome these new faces to our Bobcat family!

Below we have two important sign up forms for students and families to consider.

The first is for students who have not participated and are interested in participating in the GBS Band and/or GBS Chorale. This sign up sheet is specifically for those who have not participated in the past here at GBS. CLICK HERE for the link.

Second is our Fall Interscholastic Athletics programming. If your student is interested in participating, please take a couple of minutes to complete the form. CLICK HERE for the link.

As many of you may be aware, the state of NH passed a new law regarding the use of cellphones in schools during the winter of 2025. While this is not a significant change for GBS, we are asking that students do not use any device for personal communication during the school day. This will also include Smartwatches of which we would simply ask that the bluetooth function and/or notifications be turned off during the school day so as to not interfere with student learning.

As is always the case, if you as a parent need to get in touch with your student during the day, please do not hesitate to call the main office. If your student needs to get in touch with you during the day, they are welcome to use the school phone in order to do so.

Your student's advisors for the 25-26 school year will be sending a welcome back email sometime between next Friday, August 15th and Tuesday August 19th. This will include some helpful information and serve as an important line of communication between you and the school. Be on the lookout!

We'll be sending out more information as we get closer to the beginning of the school year. Until then, enjoy the rest of summer. We can't wait to welcome everyone back!

Sincerely,

Adam Caragher, Principal ~ GBS
