A Message from Dr. Nadjarian
Dear Families,
Tomorrow we celebrate All Saints’ Day. It is a special time to remember all the saints who loved God and showed kindness, courage, and faith in their lives. The saints remind us that we can grow in holliness by the way we treat others every day through our words, our choices, and our hearts.
One of my favorite saints is Saint John Paul II. As I mentioned to Mr. Pritchett’s Grade 6 class when they celebrated his feast day, I admire him because of the incredible work he did with young people. He reminded youth all over the world that they are the Church of today, not just the future, and that they are called to live with joy, courage, and faith. His creation of World Youth Day continues to inspire young men and women to come together and celebrate their love for God. I truly hope our students have the opportunity to experience World Youth Day when they are in high school or college. The next World Youth Day will be held in Seoul, South Korea, in August 2027. By that time some of our 8th graders would be old enough to attend!
At home this week, you might take a few moments as a family to talk about the saints and what they teach us:
- Who is your favorite saint, and what do you admire about them?
- What are some small ways we can show kindness or courage like the saints did?
- How can we remember to see God in the people around us each day?
Deacon Tommy and his wife, Nancy (who are St. Mary’s School parents) are hosting an All Saints Day Party at St. Mary’s Parish on Saturday, after the 4:00 p.m. Mass, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. If you’d like to join, please register using the link below:
On Monday, students are invited to dress up as their favorite Saint. Please note that students may either come dressed as a Saint or wear their full school uniform.
Wishing you and your children a joyful and blessed All Saints’ Day!

Professional Development: Learning Walk Throughs
This week, our partnership with Cor Creative Partners continued for Day 2 of our five part series of Learning Walks which were launched on the October professional development day. Teachers participated in an observation protocol with James Simon and Maureen Chapman in their PLC grade-level teams which provided feedback for host teachers ranging from PreK through Grade 8. Some classes observed were Grade 1 Writing and Science, Grade 7 Math, K2 Phonics, and Grade 5 Drama, just to name a few. Teams included lead teachers, assistant teachers, student teachers, and representatives from the administrative team, totaling about two dozen faculty members. It was wonderful to see such effective and engaging instructions with students sharing their learning across disciplines!
Student Government Association
We’re excited to announce that our Student Government Association (SGA) is officially getting started! Students are busy preparing their candidate speeches for positions including President, Vice President, Secretary, and Grade 6 Class Representative, Grade 7 Class Representative, and Grade 8 Class Representative. Every middle school student will have a voice through our monthly Town Hall meetings, where we’ll discuss ideas and initiatives to make our school even better. We can’t wait to hear their speeches!
In addition to student leadership, we’re also planning some exciting experiences for the year - a local field trip this winter and an overnight trip in the spring! We can’t wait to share more details soon. Wishing all of our SGA candidates the best of luck - your leadership and enthusiasm make our S.T.A.R.S. community shine!

Halloween
From Infant-Grade 8, students had a great time celebrating Halloween in their classrooms today. There were games, snacks, crafts, science experiments, and more! Thank you to all the parent volunteers who donated supplies and came into the classrooms to help run activities. Have a Happy Halloween!
