Student Reminders π
NO Personal Devices π΅
Maysville Jr/Sr High School will continue with the personal device ban. This year it is now a state law under Senate Bill 68. Please review the Personal Device policy and be prepared for this school year.
Backpacks and Bags π
Backpacks and bags (purses, drawstring bags, etc.) will remain in the students' locker through the entirety of the school day. Backpacks and bags may be used to carry items to and from school, but may not be used during the school day. This is to help keep our students safe in each space of the building, and to allow for free and clear walkways throughout hallways and classrooms.
Students carrying a bag will be given a verbal warning and allowed to return the bag to their locker. Any additional infraction thereafter will be cause for confiscation. This rule is in place to keep ALL of our students safe and healthy during the school day.

Understanding School Attendance π«
Maysville R-1 students are in session for a total of 150 school days per school year.
Our district goal is to have every student in attendance at least 95% of the time.
This would mean all students are in attendance for at least 142.5 days, allowing for 7.5 days of absences for the school year, or roughly 3-4 days per semester.
90% attendance of 150 days is 135 days. Being absent 10% of those 150 days is equal to 15 days of absences, or roughly 7-8 per semester.
Missing that many days of school in a single school year can be damaging to students and their academic growth, social emotional development, and behavior. See the image below for more information on how absences can really add up, and not in a good way!
Remember, we want to see Every Wolverine, Every Day! π
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures π
We know navigating arrival and dismissal on our campus can be challenging for families, especially at the beginning of the year. To help with these issues, please review the reminders and map below.
The front parking lot is for STUDENTS only. To help keep our students safe, please do not park in the lot or drive through it.
Parents/Guardians will enter the parent pick-up line utilizing the Hickory Street entrance.
Parents/Guardians need to remain in the designated parent pick-up lane during the entire arrival and dismissal process.
The school buses will exit at the same location as parent pick-up. Please watch for buses and allow buses to exit first during arrival and dismissal.
Doors open at 7:25 AM, and class begins at 7:45 AM. Dismissal begins at 3:31 PM.
