The North Little Rock Board of Education has approved a revised calendar for the remainder of the school year to account for six weather-related closures.

Please make note of the following:

• Thursday, February 12: This day remains Parent-Teacher Conference Day for PreK families from noon to 6:00 p.m. and no school for these students. However, this is now a regular school day for K-12 students.
  
  
• Friday, February 13: No school for all students, PreK-12th grade. Parent-Teacher Conferences for K-12th grade families will be held on this day from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
  
  
• Friday, March 13: Now a regular school day and the new end date for the 3rd nine-week grading period.
  
  
• Friday, May 22: Now a regular school day and the official last day of school (previously a professional development day).

Ms. Sarah Roberson, Coordinator of Wraparound Services, shared how her department assists our highest-need (Tier III) schools. Her team works directly with families to address chronic absenteeism and provide extra support for students in the bottom quartile.

Because Tier III schools face the greatest systemic challenges, they receive specialized resources, including intensive coaching and frequent data reviews. These "wraparound" efforts are designed to bridge the gap and ensure every student has an equitable path to success.

Representatives from Cenergistic, the district’s energy consultants, presented an update on building efficiency and the significant utility savings achieved across the district. Highlighting this success, twelve campuses have officially earned the 2025 ENERGY STAR® Certification for superior energy performance.

Mr. Randy Riddle, Administrative Director of Information Technology, presented an update on the district’s phone system replacement, detailing the implementation timeline and the phased rollout strategy.

Superintendent Dr. Gregory J. Pilewski presented a proposal to restructure and reorganize North Little Rock Middle School. This initiative is designed to elevate the standards of teaching and learning, ensuring a more effective and supportive academic environment for all students.

The Board of Education has voted to refer the proposal to the Licensed Personnel Policies Committee (LPPC) for review. Following a 10-day discussion period, the plan will return to the Board for a final vote.
