π Elementary News β Spring Update π
Our elementary school has had a fantastic stretch of learning and community building to share!
Parent-Teacher Conferences β Nearly Perfect Turnout! We are proud to report an outstanding parent-teacher conference season β nearly every family across PreK through 6th grade connected with their child's teacher. Many classrooms achieved 100% participation, a true testament to the strong partnership between our D-T families and staff. A huge thank you to our teachers for their dedication in reaching every family! π
Kindness Month Celebration A special shoutout to Hy-Vee in Grand Island for generously donating 350 ice creams to celebrate Kindness Month! Students participated in a school-wide character activity β writing or drawing ways they show kindness, then seeking out peers to compliment and connect with. Older students even partnered with their kindergarten and 1st grade buddies to help them participate. The day wrapped up with ice cream and outdoor recess β a memory our kids won't soon forget! π¦
Congrats to our 6th Grade Musical: Frozen! Our students were fantastic and the family and community support was second to none!
Report cards will also be heading home on March 20 β watch for those!
We are always looking for ways to improve communication between parents and our staff and make things easier for families. Our goal is to create a one-stop contact so parents do not need to reach out to multiple people.

Celebrating Mrs. Rainforth β February Teacher of the Month!
Doniphan-Trumbull is proud to celebrate Mrs. Rainforth, one of our amazing 3rd grade teachers! Known for her dedication, organization, and genuine care for every student, Mrs. Rainforth works tirelessly to build strong relationships and create a classroom where students feel valued and challenged to grow. Students, colleagues, and community members alike praise her warm heart, high expectations, and willingness to go above and beyond. Her co-teacher says it best: "She always does what is best for her students." We are so lucky to have you at DT, Mrs. Rainforth β congratulations! π
Jordan Thies, a meteorologist from the local weather station, presented to the Kindergarten classes to help learn about weather that they were studying in their science unit. Everyone enjoyed learning about the different tools he uses to measure weather and some kids helped act out a thunderstorm. β

Preschool Happenings
For the clothing unit in the Preschool, our little cardinals learned more about cardinal athletics and jerseys. Mrs. Kuhlmann came into the classroom to share the types of jerseys/uniforms that some of the DT athletes wear! They named the letters, numbers, colors, and symbols they saw on them! These kids look up to the older students here and can't wait to be involved in activities in the future! GO CARDS!
They also visited the Cardinal Warehouse workroom to see how they make apparel right here in our school! We saw how they print onto leather patches, press the patch, and finish the product. They made stocking hats for each preschool student with their very own name on the front! Thank you, DT Cardinal Warehouse! π½
#TheCardinalWay
Preschoolers celebrated Dr. Seuss Read Across America Week. Thank you to all of the guest readers, especially the 5th and 6th grade student council members. ππ
Thank you TLC Vet Clinic and Miss Marty for sharing a baby goat, lamb, and Golden Retriever as the preschoolers learn about different types of animals and pets. π πΆ

Leadership Class Kicks Off This Spring at D-T!
We are incredibly proud of the students who are stepping up and investing in their growth as leaders this spring! Doniphan-Trumbull began its annual Leadership Class open to student volunteers, and the response has been outstanding β with 44 students signed up for the program.
Led by Coach Conner, the class gives students the opportunity to dig deep into what leadership truly means. Each week, participants explore one of eight essential leadership traits β including communication, trust, accountability, and commitment β while also reading chapters from It Takes What It Takes by Trevor Moawad. Coaches Atkinson, Umphreys, Thede, and Blake have also been part of the conversations, sharing their own insights and perspectives along the way.
The heart of the class centers on a powerful message: real leadership isn't about halftime speeches. It's about the small, consistent actions that happen every day β often when no one is watching. Students are also being challenged to define their own personal values as leaders and understand how those values will shape their success on and off the field.Coach Conner says this class is his favorite part of the spring β and it's easy to see why. Watching our Cardinals take the initiative to grow as leaders and people is exactly what the Cardinal Way is all about. We can't wait to see how this group continues to develop!
