WEbster Nation,

LOVED having you all on campus this morning for one more chance to build community in honor of student engagement. Can't tell you how much our Caine's Arcade filled my heart. It was pure joy this morning as we all joined in the spirit of creativity and play. Thank you. Just thank you!

I sure hope you will join us for our Gratitude Breakfast and our 5th Grade Graduation. We've only got another week and a half together. Let's make it magical.

Enjoy this week's newsletter and be good to each other out there. Have a beautiful weekend.

With gratitude,

- Tedd

GETTIN' OUR GAME ON!!

Ahhh, what an unbelievable way to wrap up a jam-packed month of May. You guys ROCKED it!! Seriously, kudos to our amazing Whales for their imaginative, creative, innovative game designs. We were all blown away by your efforts to build such cool and engaging games for the arcade. They were fun and challenging and brought out the best in the adults and kids who played them. And parents, you did it! I know it was tough, but you allowed these games to be truly imagined, designed, and built by our kids...and IT WAS WORTH IT! The pride on their faces as they welcomed us to play was EVERYTHING. This is the result of kids digging into something that you care about. No grades, no assessment, just the authentic feedback of watching people engage with something you created. What an amazing community this is. Loved seeing so many of your names on the leader boards as well. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for such a beautiful morning. I loved every minute of it. Special thanks to DJ Joel for spinnin' some tunes for the event.

FOR GOOD

Thank you to 1st grader, Clanton, in Mrs. Cooper's class for his support to the Botswana School Project. This is the second year in a row that Clanton has donated his own money to the project. He enjoyed supporting the students at Motopi and Gxhabara Schools and he learned more about their culture and the local animals this year. He is very proud to be a part of this worthwhile endeavor. This year, his mom Malika, matched his donation to contribute $123 to the project. Thank you, Clanton!

THE FROG CAPER REVEALED

After 5 long months, we finally have an answer...

Dearest Tedd,

To carry on Callie’s tradition of the cute ducks and simply for the JOY and little mystery of it! It’s me! The frog caper! I would drive up every Sunday and sprinkle the campus with the silly creatures! There was lots of wildlife action around the big fig tree, especially when it got dark! From traditional green, to colors, to glow in the dark, to frogs with an attitude! LOL! I would love to hear the kids delight when they found one! Tucked away in the bathrooms, to the garden, to your office, Ms. Neci’s kitchen, and even on the teacher’s lunch boxes in the refrigerator! Trying to spread happiness in every nook and cranny!

- Miss Papale

Thank you for your efforts to spread a little joy around campus. It does not go unnoticed!!

JOIN THE GROMS FOR HEALTH AND FUN

“Calling all WEbster runners! Join us every Wednesday morning from 7:45-8:15am for Run Groms - a free, open-to-all, kids’ running program led by WEbster parents, supported by Run Malibu and BGCM. This program focuses on introducing kids to running and the many benefits that come with it, all in a supportive, fun and inclusive space. Registration is not required to join Run Groms - you are welcome to drop your child(ren) at 7:45am at the school field gate or join us for the session.

If you have questions or want to get involved, please email Cassidy & Blue Benadum at maliburungroms@gmail.com.

NEW: We are excited to extend an open invitation to the WEbster community to meet up for a few miles after Run Groms / school drop-off on Wednesday mornings at 8:30am. All paces are always welcome - run, walk, run/walk… however you choose to move. We will start & finish at the lower parking lot on campus.”

Wait Til 8th

Attention 3rd – 5th Grade Parents,

We encourage our Webster students grades 3rd – 5th to participate in the Wait Til 8th Pledge. Our goal is to gather more support from the families to wait longer for children to get Smart Phones & Watches, to help minimize tech distractions in the classroom, and allow parents to feel supported in waiting longer before getting their child(ren) access to this technology. You can read more about it at www.waituntil8th.org.

- Pledge forms are coming home for you to sign with your child(ren)

- Return them to school by next week, Wednesday, March 20th.

- Thursday, March 21st, every student who turns in a pledge form will receive a coupon for a FREE

slice at Prince Street Pizza

- If you have any questions, please email Kim at KimEbeling44@gmail.com.

Thank You!
