Happy 100th Day!
Hello McClure Families and Friends!
I write this on the eve of the 100th day of school...wow, 100 days of elementary school "principalling". I have learned so much from our staff, students and from you. For our youngest learners, it has only been 100 days of elementary school learning. For our fifth graders, tomorrow is their 1000th day of elementary school. What a perspective!
A lot of learning happens between those two milestones! To get an idea of what we are currently focusing on, you can speak directly with your child's teacher via email or ParentSquare. However, I can give you a head start with some of that. The goals (published below) are the year-long focus for your student at each grade level. Also, our third through fifth grade is working hard on fractions, multiplication and division, and writing! If your child comes home and is looking for something to do, have them write a few sentences to describe their day, write about their opinion on which kind of chips are their favorite, or how to do something that they can do but you might not be able to do. Have them help you with the measuring while you are cooking or baking, or give them a real-world math problem.
Our McClure Mustangs are capable and have everything in them to be highly successful.
We appreciate all you do to help our students continue their learning at home.
Thank you,
Gané Bourgeois and John Soler
