ACT Preparation
If you have been looking for ways to support your children and prepare them for college admissions, concordant scores for graduation or testing strategies, this information is something you should keep. While all of this informatin can feel a bit overwhelming, it is so incredibly useful.
Based on the feedback of our partners in the counseling community, the ACT Counselor Outreach team continues to add resources to the FREE ACT Practice Materials for Counselors post on the ACT Counselor Blog.
The following free resources have also been popular recently:
- ACT 2026–2027 Registration Is Open: Help Students Plan Ahead
- My Journey Events Poster
- ACT Four-Year High School Checklist
- ACT Practice Tool: ACT QuizMe
- ACT YouTube for Students (Note: The ACT YouTube channel is not new, but it has some excellent newly added content including a new ACT Tutor Series.)
Plan Ahead!
We have our Fall Pep Rally coming up on Friday, September 4th and the District's first Early Release Day is on October 28th. Please note we run alternate bell schedules on these days. This is critical for students that have off-campus courses.
Activity Bell Schedule is for pep-rallies and is sometimes used for other activities.
Early Release Bell Schedule is for...well...Early Release Days.
Please download the schedules today so you can plan ahead!
SPORTS NEWS
Another W for Sunlake Swim & Dive!
One of most powerful and quietest sports at Sunlake, our Swim & Dive Team is already making big waves this season with some wins.
Congratulations to both our Girls & Guys teams!
First Home Varsity Volleyball Game Brings 3 Set Sweep!
Seahawk volleyball is always exciting and a 3 game sweep vs Mitchell High School sure was a sweet way to host our first home game.
Congratulations, Ladies!
Varsity Football Gets First Win of the Season!
Coach DiGiacomo's first win came against all odds as our team came together as a family to put a tally mark in the win column!
If you know a football player, you will want to ask them about how they made some incredible chicken salad on Friday night.
Way to go, Seahawks!
Sunlake Cross Country opened the season with a sweep at the Lecanto Invitational, taking first place in all four team competitions: Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls, JV Boys, and JV Girls. The Seahawks also had an impressive 21 individual medalists, including three overall individual champions: Collin Langston, who won the varsity boys race; Alec Brown, who won the JV boys race; and Bella Abrao, who won the JV girls race. The Seahawks will look to build on their strong season debut when they compete at the Florida Horse Park Invitational on September 5.
Congratulations, X-Country!!!

Parent Bill of Rights & Emergency Cards

One of the scariest moments for school personnel is the inability to reach a parent or guardian when their is an emergency at the school. Please help us by keeping your information current and answering the Parent Bill of Rights questions.
Schedule Changes
Schedules are always a HOT topic in high school. While we desperately wish that we could give every one of our 2181 students the exact courses they want and in the exact order that they want, this is simply not possible.
The number of sections we offer for each course is determined by the course requests that students entered last Spring so space is limited. We have already received greater than 550 schedule change requests. If you have already submitted the form and have not yet heard back please do not submit another form.
There are 9 reasons our counselors can make a schedule change at this point in the year. We do not change electives for the first 10 days of school.*
1-Student has a class on their schedule they have already earned credit for.
2-Student is scheduled into a class that has a prerequisite that has not yet been completed.
3-Student is a senior and missing a graduation requirement.
4-Student has been accepted into an academy and is missing an academy class.
5-Student has less than 6 classes.
6-Student has a duplicate class.
7-Student is missing a core course.
8-Student has two lunches or no lunch.
9-Courses do not reflect changes request on the Spring Course Acknowledgement Form.
Schedule Change Request Form 2026-2027
*After the first 10 days of school we will have a better understanding of which students showed up as expected and which students have withdrawn. This attrition of students sometimes allows us to grant schedule change requests for electives so if we have the ability to change electives we will notify families of the procedure at a later date.
