The Badger Brief
Prothro's Perspective
Senior festivities filled our school district this month with events such as the senior parade, seniors walking the elementary halls, and of course graduation. We have so many traditions across Beebe School District that have been part of our district for years, and they truly make this time of year special for our students, families, and community. Graduation logistics is something I would like to continue sharpening moving into next school year, as we are always looking at small changes that can make the experience even better for everyone involved.
We also wrapped up state testing during Teacher Appreciation Week. Our teachers work tirelessly all year long, and I am so thankful for the dedication, patience, and love they pour into our students every single day. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom walls.
As soon as the final bus pulled off campus, summer construction projects began across the district. It will be a whirlwind over the next few months as we work to complete these projects before students return in August, but we are excited about the continued improvements taking place throughout Beebe School District.

Human Resources
Special Programs
Extended School Year (ESY) educational services are specialized instruction and related services provided beyond the traditional school year for eligible students receiving special education services. The purpose of ESY services is to ensure that a student with a disability does not experience significant regression of critical skills or lose access to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) due to extended breaks in instruction. Eligibility for ESY is determined annually by the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) team based on data, individual student needs, and consideration of factors outlined in state and federal special education requirements.
At the Beebe School District, ESY services are designed to provide individualized support that addresses each eligible student’s unique educational needs. Services may include direct instruction, related services, behavioral support, or other specially designed instruction necessary for the student to maintain meaningful educational progress. ESY services are not intended to provide enrichment opportunities, childcare, or simply continue all services from the regular school year; rather, they are carefully designed to address specific goals and skills identified through the IEP process.
The Beebe School District is committed to ensuring that ESY decisions are student-centered, data-driven, and aligned with the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Through collaboration among families, educators, related service providers, and administrators, the district strives to provide appropriate services that support student growth, maintain educational progress, and ensure equitable access to educational opportunities throughout the year.
