In the event you do need to drop lunch off, please be sure to label with the following and drop off before 10:00 AM in front of the school. After 10:00 AM, an office team member will bring them inside the school for our students.

Campus Visitors in 2022-2023

At Rogers Elementary, we strive to create a welcoming a safe environment for all! When arriving to campus, we ask that you ring the front doorbell. Our receptionist, Porsha Piper, will greet you and ask for you to hold up your ID card to the camera on the front porch. We ask that you be kind and patient as Porsha is upholding our Frisco ISD procedures.

Visitors without an ID will not be granted access to the building or able to checkout their student for early dismissal. It is imperative that all visitors bring their ID for every visit. If you are waiting in line to enter the building behind another visitor, please do not follow in the visitor in front of you. Follow the procedure of ringing the doorbell, showing your ID, and then enter the building. Thank you for your patience! The safety of our students and staff is a top priority here at Rogers and in Frisco ISD.

This year all campus visitors will be required to sign up using a reservation system before visiting in order to maintain the highest levels of safety for our students. The following opportunities to visit campus will kick off after the first few weeks of school. We will share links to sign up in the coming weeks:

  • Lunch Visitors (begins on 8/29) - 5 visitor spots per grade level per day. We ask that parents visit 1-2 times per month to allow all interested visitors the opportunity to eat lunch with their student.
  • GMR (Now every other Friday) - 50 visitor spots. We ask that parents visit once per month to allow enough space for all visitors who are interested. Sign up link coming soon.
  • Sip N Snips (Mondays from 8:15-10:00 AM) - Sign up to sip coffee and cut out or prepare materials for teachers. Sign up link coming soon.
  • Mystery Readers (K-2 on Tuesdays and 3-5 on Wednesdays). Grade levels will share their time slot and welcome you into the classroom to read with the class. Sign up link coming soon.

As a reminder, when visiting campus for these events, please do not park in the front fire lane. A photo ID will always be required to enter the building and presented during visitor check-in.

Student Meal Accounts & Meal Benefits 22-23

If your child is interested in purchasing breakfast and/or lunch during the school day, please set up a School Cafe account. Click here to set up or access a pre-existing School Cafe account for your student. For more information about FISD Child Nutrition, visit their webpage here.

Free and Reduced Application

Frisco ISD urges families who may qualify for meal benefits due to low family income to submit an application. In addition to free school meals, there are a number of additional benefits, detailed below, that students can receive when a family qualifies and shares their eligibility status. In addition, Frisco ISD receives additional state and federal funding for each student who qualifies for free or reduced-price meals. These funds provide extra academic support and resources to students and schools.

Parents are encouraged to complete the application online; however, if you prefer to complete a paper copy, you can access those files below. We will also have paper copies available during our Meet the Teacher Nights.

Outside Resources

Frisco ISD has many wonderful resources for families who might benefit from extra services and support. We offer free or reduced lunch/breakfast for your child, and we have organizations that can help if your child needs food at home, clothing, hygiene items, or school supplies. Each organization has a sign-up process, and I would be HAPPY to help you with this process if need be. Here is a link to my website where you can find information about these resources. Or you can email me at bocians@friscoisd.org.

Are you interested in becoming a mentor for a Frisco ISD student?

You will hear from our special guest speaker, Michael Davis from Ethos Mentoring, and learn more about not only joining the Frisco FAM mentoring team, but also how to make an unforgettable positive impact in the life of a deserving Frisco ISD student. Fill out this Google Doc to RSVP.

September’s Character Trait: PURPOSE

Why does PURPOSE matter?

Having a purpose is good for both you and the world. It drives you to make positive

contributions in line with your own interests and strengths. And this pursuit gives your life direction and forward momentum; it motivates and guides your short-term goals and daily activities. With a strong sense of purpose, you flourish, you enjoy a more meaningful life, are healthier and more resilient to setbacks, live more energetically, and feel good about what you’ve accomplished.

How can I encourage PURPOSE in my child?

Model it. Engage in activities that connect to your own purpose, such as meaningful work, volunteering, or creating art—and invite young people to participate with you. Talk about your goals and why they are important to you: “I volunteer at the library because I think everyone should have free access to books and information."

Celebrate it. Praise and support actions that serve a larger purpose: “I love that you participated in the local cleanup day— picking up litter makes the town better for everyone.” Point out connections between activities and long-term goals: “It makes sense that you’ve joined the Girls Who Code club at school, since you’ve always been interested in computers and can now help teach younger kids.

Enable it. Encourage young people to talk about their values and the kind of person they want to be. What do they want to contribute to the world? Notice sparks of potential purpose in children’s interests and guide them toward opportunities to engage with them in meaningful and productive ways, such as volunteering or joining a club. No matter their age, children can be helpful to others.

Join the PTA!

Joining the Rogers PTA is the best way you can financially support some extra special events and programs offered to the students throughout the year, including class parties, field day, house shirts, ninja run, diverse abilities day and staff appreciation just to name a few! Paying PTA membership dues helps support these things but does not mean you are required to volunteer. There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the year if you are available, and as a member of the PTA you will be the first to hear about them. We hope you will join us as we support our students and teachers with an extraordinary 2022-23 school year!
