Principal's Corner
Dear Milwood Elementary School Community:
Thank you to our outstanding Penny War coordinator for skillfully leading this year's fundraising initiative. Students and classes demonstrated remarkable strategic thinking in determining which grade-level containers would receive their contributions of silver coins. Through their collective efforts and thoughtful participation, we were able to raise an impressive total of $989.64. We extend our sincere gratitude to every individual who contributed to the success of the Penny War.
Kind Regards
Penny War Winner!
SECOND GRADE!!!!!! With 3rd Grade in second place and Ms. Daisy in third!!!
Milwood Elementary FREE Kid Clothing Give and Take!
During the school dance
Friday October 23 , 5:30-7:00pm
Milwood Elementary Art Room
How it works: Donate your clean, gently used kid (roughly sized 4t-adult medium) clothing, outerwear, and footwear to the main office before the event or just bring them with you that night. During the dance, come take what you need. All remaining items will be donated to Communities in Schools.
*If you are going to take part in the dance, please pay by the front door before coming to the clothing giveaway.
If not, YOU CAN STILL COME, but will be given a sticker to note you are going to the free sale only.
Harvest Festival Parade
We will have our harvest Festival Parade on Oct. 30th at 11:15. Students are welcome to bring their costumes to school to put on for the parade, but they are not to be worn to school. Costumes must be school-appropriate costume, safe, and comfortable for moving around during the school day. NO fake, toy, or costume weapons of any kind are allowed. This is an important rule that could end in disciplinary action if a student brings them to school.
No costume? No problem! We will have extra costumes available for students who need or forget one. Have old costumes at home? We would love your donations! Send gently used costumes to your child's classroom teacher, and we will add them to our collection.Spooks and Sweets
Join WMU student-athletes for a night of Halloween fun filled with candy, games, and costumes!
Spooks and Sweets event on Monday, October 26th from 5:30–7:00 pm at the Donald Seelye Athletic Center (1101 Stadium Dr, Kalamazoo, MI 49008).
