Welcome Back, NMFCCLA!
From the 2025-2026 State Executive Council
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!!!
The case is open, and the clues point to an incredible 2025–2026 year for New Mexico FCCLA! Our State Executive Officers have been on the trail, piecing together a Program of Work that’s set to uncover a whole new horizon of opportunities for your chapter and our state.
🔍 Examine the evidence below to discover their master plan for the year!
Community Service
- We Help Two-We Help Two is a community service organization that partners with us to combine fundraising and service. For example every 110 packs of 3 socks sold, one student is sponsored for a full year this covering tuition, room and board, meals, uniforms, and part of a teacher’s salary. Sponsors receive photos and letters from the said student during the school year, creating a true personal connection. Each pack sold also supports a local organization of our choice with a pair of socks. All Funds raised are shared equally between We Help Two, FCCLA, and our chapter to support projects like Socks for Legs, Water for Africa, and student scholarships.
- Ribbons for a Cause-Ribbons for a Cause is making a comeback this year, supporting new initiatives this year. We’re raising funds for the New Mexico BioPark Society to benefit the aquarium, and for No Kid Hungry to help fight child hunger in New Mexico, where 1 in 4 children face hunger. We’re also supporting FCCLA activities, including state events and prizes for the members.
- Read to Me!-Read to Me, part of the NM Literacy Network in Albuquerque, is one of our new community service programs, replacing the pop tab collection from previous years. This initiative supports babies, children, and young adults by providing free books to families and caregivers, helping build strong reading skills and meaningful conversations for the next generation. By collecting and donating used books, we help ensure that those who might not have access can receive them for free. This effort addresses the serious issue of more than a quarter of New Mexico adults being illiterate and many children struggling to read at grade level.
CTLP Social Media Challenge
The CTLP is bringing back the Social Media Challenge for our chapters! Starting in September, chapters will get the opportunity to earn points each month with their participation and interaction with different social media challenges and posts. Chapter of Distinction
Every chapter is encouraged to participate in the Chapter of Distinction award. There are three award levels, bronze, silver and gold.
- Bronze Level – recognizes chapters that have reached a baseline of achievement.
- Silver Level – recognizes chapters that go beyond the bronze level.
- Gold Level is the highest level, these are our top chapters showing excellence in all areas.
Each level is designed to give chapters a benchmark for success and future improvement, leading to stronger chapters and more prepared students. Chapters that complete the Chapter of Distinction application are eligible to apply for the Chapter of the Year Award. Both applications are in one form for your convenience.
