Dear Rocket Families,
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend. It looks like we are in for some warmer temperatures this week!
This week is National School Counseling Week. We are so thankful for our school counselor, Mrs. Brittney Myers, and all she does for our students, families and school community!!
As you know, safety is our top priority and we do all we can to ensure we have measures in place all throughout the school day and school environment, overall. As such, here are a few important reminders about measures we have in place for lunch visits and transportation changes to ensure the safety of our students.
- We LOVE to have our Parents/Guardians join their student for lunch. Parents/Guardians are only allowed to sit with the student they are visiting. A classmate can join in ONLY if written permission has been shared with the classroom teacher by the classmate's parent/guardian. The same is true for food that is brought in for lunch due to the numerous food allergies of our student body.
- Transportation changes need to be in writing and in student folders for teachers. Sending a dojo to remind teachers of the change and the note in the folder is ALWAYS appreciated. Please refrain from calling and making transportation changes over the phone - everyone has an emergency but everyone does not have an emergency everyday!
- If your child is to ride home on the bus or by car with another student we must have a written note from you and from the parent/guardian of the student they are riding home with. This is to ensure that both you and the other parent have communicated and are in agreement.
- Please ensure if your child is a car rider that you have your car tag ready for display for our staff member calling cars. In addition, PLEASE REFRAIN from being on your cell phone.
Please help us spread the word regarding KINDERPALOOZA which will be held Tuesday, February 18. This is a fun event put on by Rutherford County Schools to get rising kindergarteners excited about starting school. Kinderpalooza will be from 4:00-6:30 at the Foundation at Isothermal Community College. Please help us spread the word!
Finally, Monday, February 17 is an Optional Workday for staff. Students will NOT report to school this day.
