August Lifeline: Life Goals & Care Statements
Do the Right Thing & Treat People Right
I care for myself,
I care for others,
and I'm a good steward as I care for my space.
Your children are amazing! It's been a fantastic first few weeks!
Dear Boone Meadow Families,
Overall, we’ve had another wonderful week at Boone Meadow! Our students are engaged, curious, and digging deeply into the year’s curriculum, while beginning-of-year assessments are also underway. Our team is looking closely at classwork, student engagement, and assessment information to better understand each learner and thoughtfully plan for the year ahead. We are gaining lots of insight into who your children are as learners, how they navigate challenges, and what helps them thrive. It’s going to be a great year!
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for Curriculum Night on Thursday. We hope you were able to gain a little more insight into your child’s classroom, related arts programming, your child's teacher, learning experiences, and the year ahead. We appreciate your partnership and the time you invest in being part of our school community.
A few important details...
Looking Ahead: A few items to keep on your radar for the upcoming week:
- NWEA Testing – Grades 1–4: NWEA testing will continue for students in grades 1–4. This computer-adaptive, untimed assessment provides valuable information about student growth and skill development over time. We’ll share additional information and reports at a later date. Scores will be uploaded to PowerSchool on Friday, September 4.
- PTO Call-Out Meeting – Tuesday, August 25: Join our PTO at Main Street Park, just north of Boone Meadow. Check out the flyer below for additional information. We’d love to see families interested in getting involved!
- Eagle Fest – Friday, August 28 (5-7P): ZCHS annual Eagle Fest community event is next Friday! An informational flyer with purchasing information is included below. We hope to see many of you at this favorite ZCS tradition!
- Jog-A-Thon is Coming! – Tuesday, September 1: PTO will kick off this year’s Jog-A-Thon with students and staff during lunchtime on Tuesday, September 1. Additional information will be sent home with students following the kickoff. Get ready to run, have fun, and show your Team Meadow spirit!
Thank you for another great week of learning, growing, and building our school community together. We are grateful for the partnership of our BME families and feel very fortunate to share this year with your children.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy some time with friends and family, and we’ll see students back at Boone Meadow next week!
Warm regards,
Tom and Jarrod
