Crossroads Middle School
Weekly Updates
October has arrived....
Hello, Crossroads students and families! Happy Homecoming Friday! We have had two solid weeks of community celebration here in Northview! We ended today with an exciting pep assembly for all of our student body! The kids were great....and were able to get a small taste of what high school pep rallies will look like in the coming years!
Parent teacher conferences are coming up on Monday, October 20 and Tuesday, October 21 and will be held from 4:30-7:30 both days. Conferences at Crossroads will be held in 7 minute increments and there will be signups coming late next week or early the following week. Please be on the lookout for that. Time slots will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. We look forward to seeing you there!
Have a great weekend!
GO WILDCATS!!

Northview Food Service News
As we shared last week, there remains uncertainty surrounding the school aid budget and the status of free meals for Michigan students. We encourage families who believe they may qualify for free and reduced meal benefits to apply online no later than September 30.
Completing the Education and Nutrition Benefit Application unlocks many options for families. While free meals are one benefit available for students and households, there are many other benefits, such as additional state funding, waived testing fees, and field trip fee waivers.
The Education and Nutrition Benefits Application is needed for school buildings to receive funding based on how many students qualify for free, reduced-price, and paid meals.

E-Sports
The Crossroads Esports team's Fall season is just around the corner. We compete against teams from all across the country in:
- Super Smash Bros Ultimate
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Splatoon 3
- and Rocket League
Last fall, we had a number of teams finish within the top 10 nationally. If you enjoy playing video games, work well with others, and will keep up on your studies to stay academically eligible, then please consider joining the team. There are no cuts - and if you stick with Esports through high school, you might find that it could pay for your college - two seniors on last year's high school team earned full tuition scholarships to play Esports in college. Maybe you'll be next!
All practices and matches will take place in the high school's media center. If students have any questions, please reach out to Coach Lago at MLago@nvps.net

Chromebook Coverage Program 2025-2026
Northview Public Schools issues Chromebooks to all of its students. These devices are traditionally kept at school for grades DK -2, whereas students in grades 3 through 12 often transport their Chromebooks to and from school. As we have rolled out these devices, we have of course encountered issues with breakage, loss, theft, damage, etc. Because we do not want to pass excessive costs back to parents, Northview has decided to provide parents with peace of mind for devices that are under their responsibility. We are happy to announce that we are offering a Chromebook Coverage Plan hosted by Northview Public Schools. The plan costs $25, and covers accidental damage, one free charger replacement if the charger is lost or stolen (chargers are normally $20), as well as covers a Chromebook that has been stolen (this requires a filed police report).
To learn more about the details of this, please read our FAQ’s document to get started.
To purchase Chromebook coverage for your student’s assigned device for the 2025-2026 School Year, click here.
Chromebook coverage is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED at the 5th grade through 8th grade levels. This is where our Technology Department tends to see the most damage to devices.
Northview Resident Transportation
All families must complete one registration form for each student to be placed on a bus. If there are any changes, either before or during the school year, submit an additional form with the new schedule request. This will trump any previous request received.
Morning Drop-off and Afternoon Pick-up
Please avoid using the front parking lot/bus lane at regular arrival and dismissal times.
Parent drop off is in the parking lot East of the building.
Hand2Hand
The first Hand2Hand delivery will be on October 2. Check out the link below for more information!
School Medications
Parent and/or physician (if prescription) permission is required for the school to administer medication to students. Students are NOT ALLOWED to transport any type of medication to school. Both over the counter and prescription medications require a drop off AND completion of the authorization form by parents.
