Lord, Help Me to See
Dear SPCS Parents and Guardians,
This month, our students are focusing on the Corporal Work of Mercy Feed the Hungry. Certainly, Christ calls us to care for those who do not have enough food, but I hope we can help our children recognize that people can be hungry for so much more. Someone may be hungry for friendship, kindness, patience, encouragement, forgiveness, or simply the feeling that someone notices them and cares.
As parents and educators, we have the beautiful responsibility of teaching our children to see those needs. We want them to notice the student sitting alone, the friend having a difficult day, the person who needs encouragement, and the neighbor who may need a helping hand. We want them to understand that following Jesus is not simply something we talk about, it is something we live.
My prayer is that Saint Peter Cathedral School continues to be a place where our children learn to look beyond themselves. May they recognize the face of Christ in one another and understand that even the smallest act of compassion can make an enormous difference in someone's life.
Thank you, as always, for entrusting your children to us and for partnering with us in forming not only strong students, but young people of compassion, service, faith, respect, and integrity.
May God bless our SPCS families and guide us throughout the week ahead.
With faith and gratitude,
Mrs. Karen Banta
Principal
