Roosevelt Report
May 3, 2026
Principal Points
Dear Roosevelt Families,
Welcome to May—one of the busiest (and most exciting!) months of the year! If your family calendar is starting to look a little extra full, you’re not alone. Between school events, field trips, concerts, celebrations, and all the special moments that come with wrapping up a wonderful school year, this month is truly one to remember.
While May can feel like a whirlwind, it’s also a time filled with growth, pride, and joy. Our students have worked incredibly hard all year long, and this is their time to shine! You’ll see their learning come to life in so many ways—from performances and projects to everyday classroom accomplishments.
As we move through these busy weeks, we encourage you to embrace the moments—big and small. Whether it’s a quick conversation at the dinner table, a small pep talk, cheering them on at an event, or celebrating their progress, these are the memories that last.
At school, we’ll continue to focus on finishing strong—maintaining routines, staying engaged, and supporting one another every step of the way. With your partnership, we know our students will end the year feeling confident, proud, and ready for what’s next.
So yes… busy? Absolutely. But also meaningful, memorable, and full of celebration.
Let’s make it a Pawsome May, Tigers! 🐾
With Tiger Pride,
Mrs. Samouelian

What is a Star Award?
Are you looking for a unique way to thank a Livonia Public Schools staff member? A Star Award honors any LPS employee who has made a difference in a student’s, family’s or fellow staffer’s life. For a $25 donation to the Foundation, a personalized, color certificate will be presented to your honoree, and they will receive recognition on the Foundation’s website and social media platforms as well as the district’s social media platforms. The certificate will be personalized with your praise to show this LPS employee how much they mean to you!
Please click on the link below to send a Star Award to an awesome LPS staff member!
https://bit.ly/LPSEF-StarAward. Donations received will be used to help fund the Foundation’s Grant Program so all funds will be going back into the schools to provide programs and supplies for our students and staff.

May is Reflection Month
Reflection is the process of looking back on experiences, thoughts, or actions to better understand them and learn from them. In a school community, reflection helps students, teachers, and staff grow by thinking about what went well, what could be improved, and how to make better choices in the future.
It can happen in many ways, like discussing a project after it’s finished, writing in a journal, or simply taking a moment to think about a lesson or experience. Reflection encourages self-awareness, responsibility, and continuous improvement, which are all important for personal and academic success.
Reflection means learning from the past to improve the future.
