Hays High School Home of the Hawks
October 19, 2026
Hawk Family,
We are officially into the 2nd Nine Weeks, and things are looking good! Attendance continues to stay steady, grades are looking strong, and our students are doing some great things!
This Friday, we are back at Shelton Stadium for some Friday Night Lights as our Hawks take on Dripping Springs! We hope to see everyone out there cheering on our team! Oh and it's PINK OUT DAY, so wear Pink!
A big congratulations to our Golf and Cross Country teams for their strong finishes this past week, and to our Volleyball team for sweeping Akins! Way to represent Hays!
I also want to encourage all of our families to please consider joining our Hays High School PTSA! We are working hard to grow our membership and build a strong PTSA that supports our students, teachers, and staff. Every membership makes a difference, and we would love to have you be part of it! You can join here: https://tinyurl.com/59r65v49
Students, keep working hard, staying focused, and making good choices. Let's keep the momentum going as we move through the semester! As always, thank you to our families and staff for everything you do to support our Hawks!

Community Service Graduation Requirement (Class of 2027 and Beyond)
Beginning with the Class of 2027, Hays CISD students must complete 40 cumulative hours of community service to graduate. Service hours may be earned through approved volunteer opportunities or student-created projects and can also count toward service requirements for many campus clubs and organizations. This requirement is designed to help students develop leadership, character, and real-world skills while preparing them for future success. More Info on this HERE!

How does my child reach me during the day?
How do I reach my child during the day?
We understand that due to Texas state Law HB 1481 students will not be able to text and call parents and guardians. We will allow students to call parents and guardians utilizing their teacher's classroom phone, the front office phone, and the AP office phone.
We will also run passes to students in the classroom when you call to leave them a message. This is just like it was before we all had cell phones.
Please be patient with us and we too are navigating these changes and will do our best.

Hays HS closed to Meal Delivery Services
Parents may still bring outside food for their children if they plan to deliver the meals directly to their children during the child’s designated lunch period. All guests are required to follow existing safety protocols and check in with an ID at the front office.
1. Parents/Guardians must Raptor in with their ID.
2. Parent then hand the food to their student.
3. Parents may eat with student here on campus in the foyer.
Campus Attendance
This school year, Hays HS has a goal to hit 96% average daily attendance! Please help us by getting to school each day and to class each period! If you do miss, please remember to reach out to the attendance office at HHS.Attendance@hayscisd.net, so that they can code any absences correctly. Thank you for your help!!
Student Self Checkout / Questions Regarding an Absence
Students may self check out only if they have a valid Hays HS parking permit and a parent/guardian emails permission from the email address listed in Frontline.
Phone calls cannot be accepted for self check-out requests. Written permission is required for student safety.
Questions about attendance should be directed to your student's teacher, who can explain or request any needed attendance corrections.
The daily cut-off time for student pick-up is 3:30 p.m.
