Holiday Donations
Thank you to Strength House
Andrew Radcliffe and Garrett Hetrick, from The Strength House Gym, delivered a massive donation of gifts for us here at LCMS. Thank you to them along with our very own Tracy Dixon from Willow Dale. The generosity of community members and partners and their donations truly make a difference for our children and their families. Thank you; we are truly grateful!
Thank you for donating to Toys For Tots

......One More Student of the Month
Last week, one of our Students of the Month was not pictured. Congratulations once again to Leah S. for being selected as one of November’s Students of the Month!
Math With Mr. Lampert
This week, students in Mr. Lampert’s 6th grade math class were introduced to variables and writing algebraic expressions. Students used keywords to determine what operation(s) were needed and where numbers and variables were to be placed in the expression. To help reinforce these concepts, students completed task cards around the room. Students were engaged as they moved around the room answering questions. In their groups, you could hear them discussing questions like, "What does greater than mean?", "What does it mean by combined?", and “Where does the number go if it says less than?”. Overall, the energy in each class was awesome and students did an outstanding job writing algebraic expressions.
English Language Development with Mrs. Sartwell
English language learners in ELD 2 & 3 are reading an adapted version of The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. This book pairs text with illustrations to help language learners understand the story in their new language. We are also looking for text evidence to help us understand the different characters. Students take notes while we read and turn the information into a character biography poster project. These pictures show the book and an example of a final project from a previous year. About half of the students are familiar with this story and the other half of the students are reading it for the first time!
Academic Literacy with Ms. Waldinger
Ms. Waldinger's Academic Literacy grades 6 and 7 utilize several resources to enhance
comprehension skills and engage students with knowledge-building topics and texts designed for middle school students. Resources used by the students on a weekly basis include i-Ready Pro 6-8, Read Naturally Live, and Action Magazine. Topics that students are learning about this week include The Rise of AI, Capital Confectioner: The biography of Milton Hershey, and a holiday favorite, "A Christmas Carol" Readers Theater Play.
