Patriot Families,

Welcome to November! We celebrated the beginning of November by synergizing with our Think-Pair-Share partners this morning. What a great way to Think Win-Win and Grow with Gratitude to start the month of November. We have a short 3 weeks in November and will be looking at the Thanksgiving holiday. We have a couple of more opportunities for our Patriot siblings this month to participate in Little Leader Readers in our library. If you have a future Patriot we would love to host you in our library on November 8th and the 15th to explore books and maker space items. Our annual Spring Creek BBQ Night is November 12th, come out with your family and see some of your favorite teachers serve rolls, and raise money for our PTA! A lot of great opportunities to engage with your Patriots this month, we hope to see you on campus!

Our campus has been recognized as an Lighthouse Academic Honor Roll School. The Leader in Me Lighthouse Academic Honor Roll is awarded annually to schools that demonstrate outstanding academic performance on state or national standards. Schools earn this honor by meeting one of two standards: Exemplary Academic Proficiency or Exemplary Academic Growth. We have earned this distinction for Exemplary Academic Growth by achieving a significant increase in student performance, showing at least a five-percentile gain in state accountability standards from the previous year. This recognition underscores the schools’ success in using a culture of leadership to drive academic achievement and serves as a model for other Leader in Me Schools across the nation.

- Please drop off by 7:50. Our tardy bell rings at that time and we want our Patriots ready to learn with us.

- We cannot release kids after 2:45 due to dismissal procedures. If you have appointments, please make arrangements to pick up by this time.

- If you are dropping off before 7:15, please use the back loop. This area is staffed and students are directed to the cafe or gym. After 7:15, our front loop will be open.

Parents and Friends:

Our number one priority is the safety of the 700 plus students who attend Jack Elementary. During pickup and drop off times the safety of ALL our students should be in the forefront of our minds. As a reminder, the Texas Transportation Code Sec. 545.425 and 545.4251 Prohibits the use of a Wireless Communication Device in a School Zone unless the vehicle is stopped or the wireless communication device is used with a “hands-free Device”. This means the cell phone can not be in your hands while your vehicle is moving. This also includes “texting while driving”. School Zones include Blue Mountain Blvd beyond the yellow flashing school zone sign as well as the streets which border the school including Manassas Ln., Rocky Mountain Lane, Rockpoint Ln., Balsam Gap, and of course the school zone on Cumberland Road. We also ask that you reduce your speed and be increasingly aware while moving through the pickup and drop off lines in the front drive, the bus loop, as well as the surrounding streets. We have observed some parents operating at unsafe speeds in these areas.

In addition, the City of Tyler has prohibited left turns onto Manassas Ln. from the front drive during school days between the hours of 7:00 am-8:30 am and 2:30 pm-4:00 pm as per the signs posted and when the left turn only lane is blocked off. It only takes a few extra moments to circle the block. These signs and restrictions were put into place for the safety of YOUR children.

Thank you for your partnership in our continued efforts to receive each child safely at the beginning of the day and return them to you safely at the end of each day.
