November 1st - Early Action Deadline!!
November 1 is an Early Action Deadline for many 4-year schools including Ohio State University!
Early Action is important, because it maximizes scholarship opportunities for students serious about starting at a four-year college or university.
Your School Counselors are here to support you in meeting your deadlines, but there are important items you must address:
FERPA Authorization - done through SchooLinks or a paper form, but your Counselors cannot send transcripts to colleges without it!
Financial Verification - if you indicate you qualify for fee waivers, Counselors must have this on file for approval.
Letters of Recommendation (login to SchooLinks to access this link) - hopefully you’ve already spoken to your teachers about writing letters. Make sure you add the teachers in SchooLinks.
Add colleges to SchooLinks. CommonApp will synchronize your colleges automatically, but you must manually add any college not on CommonApp where you want a transcript sent.
Test Scores - Students are responsible for sending test scores to any college requiring them for an admissions decision. Visit the SAT or ACT site for information on sending scores. College must receive test scores by the same deadline for applications to be complete.
Monitor School Email - if your Counselors have any issues with submitting your transcripts or letters of recommendation, they will send an email to your school account, so it’s important to check daily and respond promptly to address outstanding items.
Don’t let a missing step delay your complete college application! Please see Mr. Ebbrecht or your School Counselor to proactively address any questions or concerns.
Good luck to all our 4-year College Applicants!
