It's in the books!

Hello WHES Families!

This week marks our first full week of school with all our amazing staff and students! We are all working hard on building our routines and rituals and building a school community that fosters independent and curious learners.

As a community, we are continuing to build on our Big Rocks that focus on creating a connected community that embraces the following:

-Intentional, and Culturally-Relevant Planning

-Clear, Engaged Communication

-to Continuously build and Anti-Racist Community

Please continue to engage with your child about the love of learning...take time to ask questions that helps them to share their learning from the day. Take a read through the article below for some great tips!

In gratitude. Con mucho gratitud.

-Sue Carmona

Kids get a kick out of this story with funny illustrations by Max Lang. You can also find it as a read aloud on YouTube!

Lot's of changes happening this September! Colder mornings, new schedules, and a change of routines. Getting a good night's sleep is important. Sleep is really only one of several different types of rest, explains Dalton-Smith, who breaks down the seven types of rest—mental, spiritual, emotional, social, sensory, creative, and physical—and identifies the signs you may notice if you’re lacking in one. In less than 10 minutes, she shares some quick strategies so that you can stop feeling perpetually tired and restore your energy levels. Click here to check it out!
