A Message from Mr. Chesser
Hello Bear Families!
A short week. We hope everyone had a restful and fun Labor day weekend.
One of my favorite times of year is football season. And while High School and College action has been going on for a couple of weeks, the Pro and Junior High Season kicked off this week.
Our MJH football teams took their hard work these past few weeks and put it to the test against Grand Lakes. The results weren't ideal, and weather caused one cancellation. We took victory in the 7B game, and our athletes played hard in some competitive contests. Way to go Bears.
On Wednesday, we celebrated our staff along with the pro football kickoff day by providing them lunch. Our admin and office team prepped everything, while I manned the grill - flipping burgers and hotdogs. Our staff is absolutely amazing, and this was our way of telling them thank you. Your children are blessed by some of the best teachers and staff I have had the pleasure of working with.
Next week is MOTOWN SHOWDOWN. See info below about the pep rally and how to buy tickets to the Big Game.
Proud to serve Montgomery Junior High,
Tim Chesser

Important Announcements
Bears Bringing the Peanut Butter
BEARS haven't won this thing in 3 years. Let's all pull together to change that. Our students are in competition by advisory class. The advisory that collects the most ounces of peanut butter per student will receive a free gym period during advisory one day in the future. Students need to deliver the jars of peanut butter directly to their advisory teacher. The collection begins Monday and ends as soon as the bell rings to start school on Thursday (7:20 am). Help support the Montgomery County Food Bank.
MOTOWN SHOWDOWN!!!
Pep Rally on Thursday
Due to the timing of the MOTOWN SHOWDOWN and a student holliday on 9/18, our first pep rally will be held on Thursday, 9/17. The spirit theme is class colors. Let's see all our students decked out in school spirit:
6th Grade - Gold
7th Grade - Purple
8th Black
The Game is scheduled for Friday Night. you can buy tickets through the GoFan App. Make it quick, this one sells out. See directions below.
Can't Make It to the Game? Watch It Live!
Did you know you can livestream many Montgomery ISD athletic events through Hudl?
Whether you’re working, out of town, or have family and friends who can’t make it to the stands, you can still catch the action live. Varsity football home and away games, along with 9th grade, JV and varsity home events, will be available to stream.
Check out the livestream information, schedules and subscription options here.
Lost and Found Station
We have a new Lost and Found Station at MJH. This station is located next to the vending machines near the gym entrance and concession stand. On the first of each month, we will be cleaning out the Lost and Found Station by donating items to charity. Please have your child check for lost and found items regularly if they are missing something. Primarily, students misplace lunch boxes, water bottles, shoes, and hoodies. Hope they find something they have been missing.

School Picture Day
Memory Mark has made a few adjustment to their picture order process. All pictures must be ordered using the QR code or link in the graphic above. They also have limited their services to fall sessions only. The traditional spring sessions are no longer an option.
Celebrations & Highlights
Ms. Ladd selected 6th Grade RLA Teacher Kerri Johnson for the BEARS award last week. She said Ms. Johnson strives for excellence in everything she does to support students. She easily displays her love for her job and her love for her students.
Ms. Johnson in turn selected Christy Antilley, 6th grade math teacher for this weeks honor. Ms. Johnson said that Ms. Antilley has a positive attitude that makes kids love her class. She is a miracle worker when it comes to teaching students mathematics.
Each week our staff recognizes one of their own for exhibiting excellence in their job through The Bears Award. Recipients of The Bears Award are selected and receive a handwritten note from the previous winner and a 'The Bears Award" lanyard pin. Buddy the Bear accompanies the winner for the week.
