A Message from Mrs. Mullins
Tomorrow (September 1st) you will get an email from your child's classroom teacher! So exciting! This will come in the afternoon, from your classroom teacher's email account.
When we send out our Virtual Meet the Teacher Night, on Thursday, it will include some video footage of students' arrival and dismissal doors. We think this will be a helpful visual for our students and families. After you watch, Meet the Teacher Night, you might choose to drive to Hunter (over the weekend) and show your child the door they will come into school using.
Use the link below to watch a short video showing our main entrances, one way traffic flow at Hunter, and some of the safety measure in place: https://gibdistnet.finalsite.com/cf_media/index.cfm?obj=485
Our transporation department also made a video with some helpful information for our students who ride the bus: https://gibdistnet.finalsite.com/cf_media/index.cfm?obj=482
The start of the school year is upon us! I can't wait for a wonderful year.
My Best,
Jenna Mullins

At Home Family Screener
PLEASE always call our school office and report if your child is ill. Our secretary may ask you about specific symptoms that your child is displaying. Should your child and/or another family member that lives in your house receive a positive Covid19 Test, PLEASE NOTIFY THE SCHOOL IMMEDIATELY!
You can go to this link to view one of our GSD families administering the screening tool: https://youtu.be/SsZgaXtEPiU
Masks are Required
Any student that has a medical note written by a Doctor that states they can not medically tolerate a face mask due to a medical condition, MUST meet with the principal and Nursing Services Liaison (NSL) prior to the start of school. A student is NOT ALLOWED to show up on the first day of school with a medical note to ride the bus or to attend school. Any student who shows up on the first day of school or at the bus stop with a medical note, will be sent home or not allowed to ride the bus until a meeting is set up with the principal, NSL, and parent.

Mental Health Survey
As we work to implement the MI Safe Start Plan and return to school, we recognize the impact of the mental and social-emotional well-being of our students on their learning and daily functioning and are working to support each student in the best way possible. We want to provide support and resources to students who may be struggling so that, in partnership with you, we can meet their needs in progressing toward their educational goals.
Please use this link to complete a brief COVID-19 Screen.
If you have multiple children in the district, please fill out one survey for each child. These responses will be reviewed by the building counselors and social workers so that they can offer support if a need is indicated. The responses are private and will not be shared with anyone other than the building administrator, counselors, school social workers, or school psychologists without your permission. If there is a need for a counselor or social worker to follow up with your child, you will be notified within the first two weeks of school.
