Principal Message Principal Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have come to the end of field trip week! Our 5/6 class went to Pond Days at Chip Lake. Our K/1 and 2/3 classes went to Tipple Park Museum in Evansburg. Lots of fun and learning was had by all. This week Grand Trunk Principal Heidi Zaddery and Teacher Colleen Callan joined our Grade 6s to talk about their transition into grade 7 next year. On Tuesday I will be taking them over to see their next school. Also on Tuesday our students will all have a chance to participate in the Ninja Course. And our Grade 3/4 class will be going on their class field trip. If you have not returned a permission slip for these events please do so. Students who have not returned a signed waiver for the Ninja Course will not be able to participate, verbal permission cannot be accepted for this event.

Other events happening next week include a Hot Breakfast from Evansburg Bakery on Tuesday, our last school Picnic in the gym on Wednesday. Our last PAC meeting of the year also on Wednesday. On Thursday Grade 6s write the next part of their ELA PAT, and on Friday they write the first part of their Math PAT.

GYPSD will be hosting a parent digital information session on June 11th regarding the digital report card, please see link or the poster further down in this newsletter.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Sincerely,

Alan Stoyles

Principal

Attendance Update Attendance Update

Our automated safe arrival system has been running for a few weeks now. We are gong to make a slight update. Rather that emailing the teacher or Mrs. Vankosky directly we have created a central email. wwabsence@gypsd.ca We are asking that parents who email in absences begin using this email address as it allows us to ensure updated attendance even when teachers of the secretary is away.

Spotlight on School Success: ISP Updates Spotlight on School Success: ISP Updates

Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) are documents that help school teams support students' unique needs. At the end of each year we speak with parents and guardians to review the progress of this year's goals and to make sure we set students up for success for the upcoming school year. If your student has an ISP or Checklist you can expect their teacher to reach out over the coming weeks.
