News from Mrs. Bush
Happy November
Dear Olive Families,
As we move into November, my heart is so full of gratitude for our wonderful school community. Every single day, watching our students walk through our doors with bright smiles and eager minds is the absolute highlight of my day. There is so much learning, growing, and genuine joy happening in every corner of Olive!
November is always a special season for us to reflect on connection, community, and giving back. I am so excited for our upcoming Fall Spirit Week! It is always such a fun week for our students, but what makes it truly special is its purpose. All proceeds raised will go directly toward providing holiday meals and supportive resources for our New Prairie families in need. It is such a beautiful way for our school family to care for one another.
Thank you so much for your continued support, generosity, and partnership. We are so blessed to serve your children every day, and I wish you and your family a warm, peaceful, and joyful month ahead!
Warmly,
Mrs. Bush

Donations Needed!!!
Our November School-Wide Fun activity is back, and we are so excited for Cereal Dominos! This beloved event serves two wonderful purposes:
Having FUN together as a whole school family!
Giving back to our COMMUNITY in a big way.
Each year, we collect cereal boxes to set up an epic domino train in the gym for all of our students and staff to watch fall. Once the fun is over, every single box is donated to our local food pantry. Last year, the food pantry was overwhelmed with gratitude for our school's generosity!
This year, our goal is to collect 436 boxes of cereal. That is just ONE box per student! Let's work together to hit our target and spread extra joy and care across our community this holiday season!
Unopened boxes of cereal can be brought to school Nov. 9 to Nov. 20.
Congratulations Q1 Model Attendance Students!!
Over the past two weeks, we loved celebrating our students who achieved Model Attendance for Quarter 1! An incredible 307 students met the goal by missing less than 1.5 days during the first quarter. What an outstanding accomplishment—we are so proud of their dedication!
We can't wait to celebrate even more of our learners in Quarter 2. Here is what we have planned:
Quarter 2 Attendance Goal: Any student who misses 3 or fewer days between August 5 and December 18 will earn an invitation to our super fun Flashlight Dance Party!
Fresh Start Opportunity: We know that sick bugs hit hard at random times of the year and can set attendance back. Any student who earns PERFECT attendance in Quarter 2 and stays under 7 total missed days for the school year will also get to join the Flashlight Dance Party!
Thank you for your ongoing support in prioritizing daily attendance—being at school every day makes such a difference in your child’s learning and connection to our school community!
Winter Weather Readiness: Are You Prepared for School Closures & Early Releases?
Review Your Early Dismissal Plan: We will strictly follow the early dismissal plan you submitted during registration whenever unexpected weather forces an early release. For your child's safety, please make sure this plan is fully up to date if your arrangements have changed.
Please review the information below from our superintendent for our district weather cancellation guidelines:
