Every school year comes with its rewards and challenges - and this one was no different. It was great to see so many of our students getting "back to normal" - whatever that is in a middle school, after the disruption of the past 3 years. There are many student successes to celebrate and much to look forward to.

I want to wish our 8th grade students and families well as they move on to high school. The students are ready for this new challenge and chapter in their lives. The same advice that I gave them when I visited their 6th grade classrooms will work in high school (and life):

-Show up

-Do your work the best you can

-Ask for and accept help

-Be kind

To our 7th grade families and students - we look forward to your return in the fall and hope that you will accept your role as leaders and role models for the incoming 7th graders. We will be sending home a newsletter with important dates and information for the upcoming school year.

ALSO - ALL LIBRARY BOOKS ARE DUE TO THE LIBRARY BY JUNE 14. FINES WILL BE ISSUED FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE NOT RETURNING TO MMS NEXT YEAR.

We had 2 teams compete against Alderwood and Brier Terrace Middle Schools last week in Battle of the Books. We lost to the Brier Terrace Bulldogs by 3 points. It was a close and fun competition. Thank you to the following students for reading the books and representing our school with great energy and enthusiasm.

Just a reminder that all library books should be turned in at this point. If books are not turned in and your student is not returning to MMS next year, it will be marked as a fine. You can pay for fines in person in our office or online. Our students checked out 12, 638 books this year, but now it is time to get those books back in. Thank you for your support.

The students in Blue House will be released early on Friday for Celebration Day. They will get to make some Blue tye-dye T-shirts, participate (if they want to) in a water balloon fight with some staff, sign their winning House display board, and each will recieve a treat bag. Nice job Blue House!!!
